Introduce Yourself In The Comments.. Meet Others and Compare Interests.

in #busy5 years ago

I've made this post before, I've just updated it for the following reasons. I keep hearing about these quality minnows we are losing, but I can't find them. We know content and author discovery can be difficult on Steem. So, let's give this a try... Last time almost exactly one year ago, when I made this post it received 253 comments.

Let's see how it does now.

One of the most common complaints I hear from people with young accounts is it is difficult to find a following. I agree it is difficult to find others who might be interested in your posts. Don't feel too bad even those of us who have built an audience are feeling like readers are a bit scare right now.

Let's try this... (I have no idea if it will be effective)

Make a comment giving a short description of who you are and what you write about. I'm not looking for your real-life name, but rather who you are on Steem and what you are about and interested in.

One of the reasons I quit myspace and moved to Facebook was how easy Facebook made it in the early years to find your friends and those who held the same interests. It was a lot more fun to engage with people who I either knew or had shared interests with.

I encourage you (on this post only to) drop a link and a description of yourself in the comments. If you drop one, also find someone else to follow. It is a slightly organized follow4follow post.

I will highlight the 10 introductions that I find the most interesting and there might be bonuses as well.

It's just an experiment, take a minute post about your interests and if you think it might be helpful give it a resteem.

Who knows you might find a new supporter as well.

Meet up in the comment section.

Feel free to invite others to your discord servers as well while you are at it, if you have a curation group please feel free to add those details as well!

Other tips for Authors to Connect on Steem. Join some discords, go to some Steem Shows. Make comments on other's posts.

If you are struggling in the new economy, I want to hear from you, but keep in mind... It is hard to build and keep an Audience and not all posts are going to earn.

By the way, my beginning here was also a challenge. I made 96 posts that didn't earn any rewards and many others that only earned a little.

I play videos games as a hobby and mostly write game reviews. Once in a while, I’ll have some guides and fanfictions as well.

When I’m not writing about Path of Exile of which I have around 50 posts on. You will find I’m mostly a budget gamer who focus on arpg, blockchain, space, and survival games among a couple of other genres.

I have a very in-depth index of some of my better or different works. I am a strong believe content still holds value long after the post has closed. As such I share content even some of my older works on Twitter and other sites from time to time.

Cheers!

Nice cat. Yeah I'm hoping an SMT can find a way to reward content that has paid out on steem.

Well... If I remember way back to my (now embarrassing...) introduction post... I think I described myself as a father, a violinist, a gamer and an all round nerd...an Australian living in the Netherlands and a Musician who has a background in Science... And not much really had changed...

Father: I have two daughters who are just the best thing in the world... Except when the little one is screaming her head off or just not sleeping... But that is the life of a parent!

Musician. I play Violin, Viola and Viola d'amore specialising in Early Music (otherwise known as Historical performance practice). It is a strain of Classical music (#classical-music!) that tries to remove the intervening centuries with of 'music tradition' to recover the original intent and music of the past. Think about how different everything in the world (language, convention and aesthetics) is compared to the 17th and 18th century. It doesn't make sense to apply modern traditions and ideas to works from the past....

Gamer.... PC gaming or go home... Okay, I've softened a bit for the Switch in my old age!

Nerd. If it isn't cool... I probably think it is really interesting. It maybe I should say that I am completely interested in things that other people will eventually be interested in!

Haha... I love the intro! I am interested in odd things too, and I often find this is a common theme on Steem.

Yes, the cover of semi-anonimity (at least not knowing any real life friends and colleagues here) does allow us to express our interests and ideas that we might otherwise keep to ourselves! That also had a good and bad side though...

ok i will fish! i am torico, sometimes known by rabbit puppy or one of a variety of names. i like to reinvent myself and be spontaneous. i hang out in pal and helpie and creativecoin, where i am a curator. since making profit isnt my primary goal in life, im still a small fry here in steemland, but i have made some really awesome friends.

i write about a few things depending on my mood and passion. sometimes its photography, poetry or art, sometimes its writing or nature. my latest post was about buffalo. once in a while i will drop a post about socio-political or steem-related topics such as a "how to", discrimination, anxiety, contests or curation.

even tho i am extremely introverted, i go about it in an extroverted way. i like to chat, troll and give loud obnoxious opinions when im triggered. ask WU, she was really polite about it and still somehow talks to me. I like to do pirate dj shows on mspw, will give advice and help freely, and will happily curate new or undervalued steemians who write really good content. the weirder you are, the more i might like you

Haha, I don't mind opinions. and I would strongly recommend her in any moderation roll, she out does herself in paying attention to details.

yaaaa details. it's a blessing and a curse

I produce electronic music, shoot photos, design graphics, shoot music videos and vlogs, manage record labels, own a digital music distribution and promotion company. But mostly I drink coffee.

EDIT: as requested by OP, here are some examples of the latest things I've worked on.

This is the record cover artwork of Different Is Different Records's forthcoming 180th release, the techno label I founded 9 years ago. The label started showcasing photos of endangered wildlife and recently I have decided to change the design to start showcasing artworks from artists. For the next year we will be showcasing the works of Pawel Czerwinski. The music of the label is distributed through my digital distribution company.

This is one of the promotional graphics for the IG Stories.

This is @misselectric's own techno record label. I directed all the graphic aesthetics of the label and designed the record cover artwork and promotional graphics reminiscent of movie posters. The music of the label is distributed through my digital distribution company.

Here's the graphic for the IG Stories.

This is one of my client's techno label "Hidden Suite Records" from Madrid. I designed all graphics and directed the branding of the label as well. The music of the label is distributed through my digital distribution company.

The IG story graphic.

Here's my latest video of a live synth performance, please note it is not finished, but it's a live recording https://steempeak.com/dtube/@greencross/2pn0ckjcg9i

Thanks to @whatsup for the chance to re-introduce myself :)

fellow music and coffee lover!

and best selfie companion! @joythewanderer too bad you wander too fast and I almost couldn't keep up with you at Steemfest :P

Posted using Partiko Android

my bad, I find you in Bangkok, oh wait, are you by any chance going?

@joythewanderer I really wish but, sadly, I don't see it happening unless by some miracle I get a free plane ticket and free Steemfest ticket as well lol. But yes my initial plan was to go.

Posted using Partiko Android

I also drink coffee! I've followed you. Now that we have something in common! :) Also would like to invite you to post a link or graphic you choose to create attention.

thanks so much for the follow @whatsup :) we already follow each other on Twitter and I already was following you here for a while. If you don't mind I will edit my response and add a couple graphics I've been working on and a link to my latest DTube post which is a live performance of my latest work-in-progress synth music. Only if that's ok. If too spammy just let me know and I'll keep it to only one graphic like you suggested.

Cheers and thanks!

Hi Im new here, I would like to share with you a banner I had create in power point
BANER 1.gif

hello fellow coffee nerd !

Hi, I’m inertia. I like to code. I also like to play old video games people don’t care about anymore. Sometimes I do both. I code, then I play old video games people don’t care about while my code is doing things that take a while. That way I’m not too distracted when my code screws up and I can see when that happens right away.

I also try to document things that I figure out in code. That way, if I run into something unexpected, hopefully others will benefit from my discovery, especially if I can generalize the issue so it doesn’t matter which tools you’re already using.

I’m also a science fan. And I like economics. And easy cheese.

We are thankful for your coding and documentation! It helps us semi-techies try to figure out what makes STEEM work!

I'm a retired American Emergency Room nurse who sold my house a couple of years ago and now live my life with my lovely wife in an RV (that's a motorcoach I guess for you non-American folks) volunteering with government nature agencies (fish&wildlife, forest service). Giving back to society in an enjoyable way. Blog mostly with my fitness interests but am a lover of the natural world and like nothing better than hiking, cycling and just plain getting "out there". Only been a Steemer for less than a year but enjoy supporting those with similar interests and goals. Any pat on the back support is welcome.

Now that is a really nice RV! My younger sister has a tow-behind 17-foot camper that she lives in and travels. Neat stuff.

Hey folks!!!

I’m @metametheus, most folk know me as Raven.

I’m an organiser and curator for the @naturalmedicine Tribe, a Steem community dedicated to sharing and exploring wisdom, knowledge and personal experiences with natural medicines, health, and healing.

From my time as TCM Doctor and lecturer, I’m fascinated with Taoism, ancient Chinese history and philosophy, alchemy, Tai Chi and Qigong.

But I also love to geek out on all areas of history, philosophy, anthropology, etc.

I’m also right into esoteric topics such as spiritual ideas and practices, and kooky shit like astrology, tarot, Feng Shui, and that sort of thing.

Also, I am a rock tragic. Give me all sorts of pop/rock music and I go nuts.... anything from metal to prog, blues jazz, funk, .... whatever!!!

Really looking forward to seeing some different folk start to appear on my feed, so I’ll be keeping an eye on this post and reading comments!!!!

Take care, y’all!!

I am so honored you posted on my introduction! We do have a lot in common!

@whatsup,
I am just asking, why we can't introduce them a new tag, that's not #introduceyourself. I think it almost spammed. But we can introduce something that we monitor, provide votes for quality contents and fight spams too! If you wish to build that mechanism, you know I could help you in some ways!

Sweet! Good idea!!

I am @stealthtrader and I have been here since July 2016.. I started out doing acoustic guitar and also Dj'd some EDM on here as well.. I have blogged about hundereds of blockchains since then, and here recently I can be found on the Splinterlands battlefield most of the time!

Hi @stealthtrader

It clearly seem that we're sharing similar interests (blockchain, tech etc). Followed you already :)

Cheers, Piotr

Nice, glad to see you are engaging in many aspects of Steem from blogging and vloggin to games!

Of course! I love the Steem community.. It has been my digital family/home for years!

Engagement under this post is mind boggling! Now I realize that the number of active steemians is higher than I think it is.
