The idea of the witnesses is they represent you to Steemit, Inc.
- So try to pick witnesses that are doing a lot for the entire Steemit platform.
- many have external websites that are very useful
- They all must run a server that supports the blockchain.
- They make money for doing this.
The higher they are on the list, the more money they can make.
So by voting for those doing a lot for the platform, you are helping them do even more for the platform...
- They make money for doing this.
Thanks for this explanation. I'm really new on Steemit. I didn't at all understand voting for witnesses. I think I get it now. So the witnesses who are good to the community deserve our votes, while the self-serving witnesses don't deserve votes? Question--It seems like minnowbooster is good for the community because it encourages new users to stick around. But what do I know? This post suggests it's a bot and that bots are bad. How do you feel about it?
