B&W PHOTO CONTEST | Little Girl By The Sea
There's just something about this photo that has alway captured my attention. It was taken on my last trip to Busan in South Korea.
There is a beautiful temple there called Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, also known as "The Temple by the Sea". It has to be my favorite temple in Korea by far just because of the location.
I stupidly missed the entrance when I went to visit and ended up on a back road entrance. As I was walking towards the temple, I noticed these rocks and a little girl playing by them.
In Buddihst tradition, people stack stones on top of each other as a form of meditation and a way to bring good luck to yourself and your family. This little girl was searching for a stone of her own to add when I took this shot.

Maybe its the dark shadows that the stones are casting, or the way the girls hair is blowing in the wind, but there's something eerie about this photo. Although I know the real story behind it, I can't help but think...is she getting ready to jump in the ocean? Why is this little girl all alone on these rocks?
