Byteball Use-a-Thon: Listing My Entries and Plans for Use-a-thon
Summary:
As the Byteball Use-A-Thon keeps on rising so my plans and ideas for it. As usual i will try my best in thins competition to give byteball a platform or a Platform with byteball. I was planning to work on 3 project in this month of Use-A-Thon which i would like to list here. 1st, 2nd, 3rd entries and plans:-
- A freelancing platform on byteball, Explained here.
- A Voting App and Website that Votes on Byteball Platform (Explained in this post).
- Byteball based Discord bot (Explained in this post).
2nd Entry :- Voting App:
As the byteball community increases, people now wants more and more features on Byteball and So far byteball is lacking with a very good looking voting app that can make easy and customized polls for users and i will try to create one.
Features:
- The user will be able to create decentralized poll on byteball with a beautiful ui.
- User can search for existing polls.
- Polls will be assigned with a unique id and password
- To vote on a poll use have to access the id and password.
- There can be public polls as well.
Note: Byteball already have a chat bot that can vote on byteball but i am creating a GUI to do that.
I don't wanna discus 2nd entry too much right now because i have to do certain amount of planning to make it live.
3rd Entry :- Discord Bot repo:
As you noticed, I am already working on this entry. My first entry will be this one and this should be completed first.
I am planning to make a discord bot so byteball can broadly get accessed by more and more users even if they are not using byteball wallet. The bot i am creating is a unique project that may encourage users to not download official wallet but the bot will help byteball to make an approach to more users. The bot will do basic byteball functions as well as some unique approach will be added by the time.
Features:
- The bot can be able to collect Unit Id Info
- Gives you info about how many bytes you have.
- You can make polls with a secure id
- You can vote on polls with the id
- Transfer funds to others and with Conversion features. E.g.:- If you want to send 10 USD worth of byteball or 0.001 BTC worth of Bytes or with any Coin Gecko registered currency, Which means more than 2200 Options.
- Get Assets info.
- Custom name attestation.
and try to implement more features by the time.
Note:- You, However need some bytes in account with this bot to access it's some features and that's why a wallet is required on any platform to transfer some bytes over this platform.
Security:-
You can have option to store if but by default, Bot won't store your wif.
Use Case of 3rd Entry:-
- Users having Discord app with this bot can now have access to Byteball.
- People with this bot can easily access most of the byteball features.
- Easy to create polls and implement voting.
- Easy fund transfer.
- Custom name attestation can makes it more easier to work with byteball on discord.
You will see and enjoy it's working over Bot on Discord sooner.
Progress in Repository of 3rd Entry:
- Mongo DB added
- Command names added
- Events added
- Byteball-js declared.
That's so far the beginning for use-a-thon. The projects will be open source so it can also be used for reference or can be further developed by new developers.
This was a confusing post to review. Only the third project makes it relevant as a Utopian post, because that's the project that's actually underdevelopment with a repository. I think it should have gotten its own post.
A Byteball discord bot seems like a great idea to me. A Ginabot for Byteball? That sounds cool and useful, to be sure. I look forward to see more updates about it! I was able to take advantage of some of the ways Byteball gave out bytes, so I'm a prospective user of this bot.
Now, I've lately been trying to disregard minor issues of grammar and proofreading. Because as long as the message is clear, such issues aren't a real problem. But I want to highlight one sentence in your post that I think needs a second look:
"The bot i am creating is a unique project that may encourage users to not download official wallet but the bot will help byteball to make an approach to more users." I'm not gonna belabor the missing commas or the fact that it should have maybe been two sentences. I'm going to talk about the part where what you wrote is nearly the opposite of what I think you may have intended to write. You wrote "may encourage users to not download official wallet." This means that there is a possibility that the bot will encourage users not to download the official wallet. Did you mean that, or did you mean that there is a possibility the bot will not encourage users to download the official wallet? Is it even possible to use Byteball without an official wallet? This entire sentence left me extremely confused, and unsure of what you intended.
In any case, I am looking forward to seeing where this bot goes!
