Byteball Analysis ($GBYTE)
The following is not financial advice.
Welcome to back The Scoop!
This is the next post at a place where we share analysis and opinions for interesting coins, tokens and pure gems in the vast landscape of the blockchain world. There's so many coins out there, but not a lot of free information (looking at you, paid groups) and analysis on them. The Scoop aims to change that by sharing and improving the data available for a given coin by focusing on evaluating instead of predicting.
What is Byteball?
It's good stuff. It's based on different tech than Blockchain, but still secure and fast. That's quite an eye opener itself. Supports many awesome things like conditional payments, P2P insurance and gambling, prediction markets and really helpful chat bots to get stuff done. The native currency isn't meant to be fully anonymous, so they created Blackbytes, it's privacy coin. You can even use TOR in wallet! But wait, there's so much more going on here...
Airdrops to BTC holders. All you need to do is register with their in-wallet transition bot and free money.

Completely new tech.
Richard Heart really likes the project as well:

How many of them are they?
CMC says ~645k circulating with a total supply of 1m. Super low supply coin.
Who's the team?
Main developer is Anton Churyumov ([email protected]), but we'd expect them to expand into much bigger team in the future.
What motivates them?
If you read the whitepaper, they really seem to love tech, even altruistically which is great.
Other than that, it looks like maybe a 2% pre-allocated for the business.
Marketcap and Competitors?
~454m with ~1m volume daily.
Are there any similar projects? Well for payments/store of value, there's BTC or BCH. For tech, IOTA uses a DAG system as well. For privacy, sure we could throw Zcash in there when thinking of Blackbytes (much more supply though).
- Bitcoin -> ~225b
- IOTA -> ~9b
- Zcash -> ~1.9b
How is Byteball different?
Well, for one it's not a blockchain. It's a DAG. No mining, yet it's still fast and scales.

And secondly, it's awesome! Just download the wallet and use it, chat bots to buy and sell you coins, a very solid product.
Pros
- super tech
- active development
- airdrops
- speed
- great wallet
- actually useful
Cons
- lack of marketing

Any constructive criticism?
Got to expand the business and marketing teams to get out there and sell the product! It's great and deserves to be known and a foundation built to support it long term. DAGs could really compete with Blockchains in the future.
Where is it traded?
Most of the volume is on Bittrex today. Wow, if this thing hit Binance...

The Final
Based on the FA, GBYTE looks like a low to medium risk with high reward potential if they continue to deliver and catch on. Picking it up under 4000k sats would be bargain or around $600 - $700 would be an upper entry while still expecting solid, crypto-style gains.
And that's your scoop!
