Cacti are amazing! But few species are more striking, mystical and unique as the Lophophora a.k.a Peyote.

They grow so slowly but they can survive almost anything, and when they flower...

Look at these beauties. Those are actually grafts, which means they are two different plants connected and working together as a single organism.

The bottom plant is a peculiar kind of cactus called pereskiopsis, the Lophophora is on top, taking advantage of the pereskiopsis' fast growth capabilities.
