Cactus Fruits

My cactus in the front yard grew fruits again finally. Some the birds got to first so I used them as compost. They are kind of like dragon fruits which I also like very much. Flowers bloomed first and then the fruits grew in. Its a bit of a battle to get to them before the birds. You have to keep a close eye on them when they turn a pink red color they are ripe and you better harvest them quick. These fruits have a light flavor and are very good for you. If you grow Peruvian fruit cactae you will have their fruits. When picking them you will have to twist to get them off the cactus and gently. You don't want to prick yourself haha.
