Call em Out Post 1
When I went looking for users who make big rewards compared to many on Steemit I wasn’t really sure where to begin.
Where would these people, many of whom I don’t know, be? Honestly they're quite HOT if you know what I mean
I started this project because I noticed some articles I really like, earned some really good money and I wanted to read more and see what the author was writing about most often. Before following someone I like to see if it's worth it, like will my feed fill up with content I want to read, vote for and not just a one off. Do they consistently write well or was this article just an anomaly.
What I found was an author who had banked $30+ in rewards and had 34 followers below 50 rep and only had a dozen previous posts of similar good quality scattered over the past several months. I thought how can someone who rarely posts make such big bucks without a following or being active in comments. I checked the wallet, I can’t remember the amount but it was nothing to get excited about. It seemed normal, no cashing out transactions visible.
The comment and reply section was, from my perspective embarrassing because the author had GIVEN very few comments and the comments they left were in their own posts. I checked out their curation rewards and they we nonexistent BUT it really got me thinking about why and how could someone like this get such rewards. The content was nothing spectacular that outshone all other authors.
Well that was months ago and since then I have seen very similar patterns of people banking significant rewards and doing very little earn them. They were kind of going about doing the opposite of what we try so hard to do to make a few pennies. They weren’t voting much, they weren’t commenting much or even replying to comments and though their posts were good quality content; I don’t think they’d be winning Pulitzer prizes.
I even saw people write articles a few hours after mine, same topic written in comparable quality and they were making over $20 for the same thing I didn’t even make a $1.00. How? I have a following, decent rep and active comment sections which I always reply to. I look at their profile and see that analytically I had better a chance of making rewards than they. Of course from point of view I should have made more than I actually did but that’s how most of us feel.
And that’s what got me snooping in on peoples voting habits.
Let me reiterate I love these authors’ posts. I believe they write articles worthy of every penny, dollar and in some cases a Bitcoin's worth that they earn. I will continue to support these authors for as long as they continue to write quality content.
This post is simply bringing attention to these authors as people who have the power; influence and ability to give more back to the community and after having received so much.
Votes from these particular authors would increase other author’s rewards and get this, make them Happy. Their voting power being horded is not helping the greater good of the Steemit platform. Steemit user retention will increase and the value of Steem will go up.
Please see my first post for more info about me and what I’m doing here.

This was not easy being my first post on such a topic. I have only seen comments that compare.
These people may vote BUT based on Steem stats information their voting power is consistently about 97% or higher. Even if they vote and make great curation rewards I'm looking at people who should be voting MORE!! They have the power and in my opinion in some small way owe the community more because they have received so much from us.
So here are today’s pick to Call em Out. All quoted numbers were accurate at time of posting. I even double checked the second before clicking submit.
@armen
Followers 54 / Rep 62 / Steempower 1,800+ / L5P (last 5 posts) = $167.63
Weekly Average Curation = 0.303 Steempower (very low for over 1000 steempower)
He’s a poker guy. His posts mostly revolve around the game and Steem users love to vote for him to get sweet curation rewards. His posts offer Poker tips and advice and you can stake him in upcoming games. He really is a positive contributor to the platform and deserves all his rewards. People would join Steem just to stake poker, if more people knew about it. He seems to login post, maybe reply to a few comments, check some posts and make a few votes, and leave; nothing to get excited about.
He doesn’t vote enough. I don’t know his reasons to not vote, maybe he can leave the answer in the comments. OR get out there and upvote more.

Another author I find myself voting for regularly. I find I actually make good rewards when I get in early on one of her posts.
I think saramiller is a great person in real life and online. She is down to earth and has done nothing other than spread positive vibes on Steemit through yoga and personality. Sara belongs on Steemit, she is original, offers quality content and I feel she deserves all the rewards she has earned.
With her voting power and Steempower so high I feel she could be spreading more love than she is. "Come on Sara get out and vote more. It’s for the greater good."
I will continue to vote for her because I often make decent returns from her posts. She's active and even as I write this post she has been leaving comments which is fine but more voting as well would be divine. Her voting power has been above 99% for well over 24 hours.
That's my rant. I do like these authors and I hope to continue getting great reading material and rewards from them.
Please feel free to leave comments I will reply.
If I have mentioned you and that's what brought you here Thank You for showing interest. I do want to know your reasons, they are all valid without a doubt. We can grow Steem with better voter habit understanding. It's still so young to clearly see long term voting patterns. And all the bots and what not. I'm on your side.
If you know someone that needs to be Called Out drop me a message or drop them the image below and a link to my original Introducemyself in their comments.
I know Steem is confusing and maybe understanding how voting power works is the issue for many people. Curation is a whole different game, on Steem we should all be doing as much as we can.
The rule of 20 votes per 24 hours is the bare minimum we should be doing not the maximum.
I want to help you better understand how to give back more without losing rewards in the process.
Check out www.steemstats.com and type in your name. You will see how much voting power you having in real time. You could easily make good rewards on your posts and vote until your voting power is between 92%-95%. Keep track and check back every 10 mins or so after making a few votes.
Really give back to the community that has rewarded you for giving us what we want and love to see here because we hope you continue on your path to the top, you could keep voting until it in the high 80’s%.
Some of the best curators vote until they’re in the low 70’s % or less such as myself. Ideal vote power range in my opinion.
While the hardcore curators who I will also highlight in a post soon to come for their extra contributions to Steemit keep their voting power to below 50%. I have yet to see below 37% that was the lowest I saw someone do and I regret not taking a screen shot then.
I truly hope this post comes off more as encouragement and complimentary rather than hounding and trolling. It’s not my primary intention. I just think these people, for today, others will come, should be voting more and maybe they didn’t know it’s a big issue for Steemit.
I will except any reason they didn’t vote in the past if they start voting more today.
The more you vote, the more Steem will grow and more users will sign up and more people pay in and steem value will rise.
I guarantee it!!
P.S.
if you think I have a future doing this could someone hook up a logo for me please. I will make it up in the future, promise.
Please resteem since I'm still quite new.
All rewards will be 50/50 and after one year the tokens will used as BIG rewards for people the community feel worthy.
all images other than my screen shots were from a google "free use ___photo" ok?
You might find this and this helpful for the first account you mentioned.
Huh, that's really interesting. I didn't see those before. I did mention in my intro post I wasn't going to go back a month and those are older posts. But very enlightening.
I still think regardless of his place, sounds like drama and politics in those posts, he should vote more.
Isn't this just the same old story, similar to the busker who earns just a few dollars even though his musical skills are as good some pop star who makes millions? Why does fortune so favour some over others? Where there is no obvious game rigging going on, the only answer I can give is that the clue is in the word 'fortune': Some are just less fortunate than others.
I dont know anything about vote rigging.
I'm just pointing authors who don't vote but get lots of rewards.
They should vote more often don't you think? Regardless of the reasons steemit needs more active voter especally those who are able to receive so many.
