have you tried this app? i use it to catch shutter problems in old film cameras

it's free for iPhone and also android if i am not wrong...it gives you a graph of the sound which will tell you a lot about what is going on...anyways that should be an easy fix for those guys at sukya or kantocanera.
btw, that strap looks amazing ...do you know the length? where did you get it? cheers

search for shutter-speed app...

Thanks dude! I will definitely give this app a try (it's not free but cheap enough, so I bought it already). The issue I am seeing is probably beyond a pure speed issue. I am also seeing a lot of pictures where the right side is under-exposed, like this one for example (sorry, boring picture ahead)

Regarding the strap, I don't remember the length but I bought it at deadcameras. I love their straps, I have 4 of them.

:-) didn't remember this was a pay app...i know it's a little too much but Kantocamera charged me 30,000yen for a complete overhaul of my Nikon f2 and it became like new!

Thanks for the info, good to know for reference. That might be more than I'm willing to spend on this camera. I don't know yet. I will be out of Japan for a couple of weeks anyway, so I will just keep shooting it as it is, and decide later. 90% of the shots are unaffected, so I guess things could be worse.
