The First class on the series- HARDDISK

in #campusconnectng3 years ago (edited)
Hello students ☺️❤️ @campusconnectng and everyone on the platform. Hope the day is going and hope we aren't stressed out today as the beginning of the week. It's time for lectures 🤔 not the regular lectures we spend time being bored 😂😂 this is an educative class 🤔🤔of course every class should be, but this is the coolest class you would ever have in campus trust me ☺️☺️. Let's Go🔥🔥🔥

Good day to everyone who is participating in this class, like I said earlier we are taking the class series by series and trust me this won't be born but impactful.
Now on the series of the week
we have

  • INTRODUCING THE PARTS OF COMPUTER

  • HOW THEY FUNCTION

  • HOW TO REPLACE SOME PARTS

  • HOW TO KNOW WHEN THEY
    MALFUNCTION

  • SOME SOLUTIONS TO THE
    MALFUNCTIONINGS.

But before I start dealing with these sub section. It is proper to explain what I want to talk about, when I mean talk about, we are discussing computer here.
So by normal definiance 😂😂 I meant definition as we all know and have always been using to defend ourselves anytime, it is defined as an electronic device that accept data, process data, stores data, and gives out results as information. With the simple Definition above , every students understands the main meaning of a computer. But then without wasting much of our time . Computer is made of two major parts.

  • Hardware:
The hardware is the physical parts we see and touch , they play roles two in the device.
  • Software:
This is the parts that is not seen but also essential for the computer to operate. Some of them run inside the hardwares and they control how ands are executed on the computer system.

TODAY'S DISCUSSION (HARDWARE PARTS)

But going to today's topic of study, which is the hardware aspects, which deals with the physical parts we see and touch .

In our various schools, houses, lodges, hotels😎, and lectures we must have seen, used and touched the hardware parts of a system, infact as a matter of fact this class is for those who don't even know any about it becouse it will be reviewed ☺️☺️. Let's continue 😋

The first hardware I will be looking at is;

The harddisk

IMG_20220110_075752_971.jpg

The harddisk by definition is a storage device that keeps files and data's of the user. Now I have come across students who believe that the laptop computer cannot on if there is not harddisk 🤔, This is a fallacy😂😂 in the sense that a laptop can actually on and basically display without a hard disk but I cannot boot to desktop background due to the fact that there is no data to be booted on, that means the harddisk carried the software that needed to have a complete computer running and usable 😎😎 wisdom choke😂😂.
We students most at times mistake the harddisk drive for the SSD (solid state drive ), they are the same thing but the are of the same use, the solid state drive is not made up any rotating part such as the disk, but the harddisk has which also resulted to the name harddisk.
So like every other storage device, the harddisk is removable and replaceable.
There are many sizes of harddisk just like every other storage device on Earth that we make use of. Harddisk also must not be inside your laptop in order to be useful most time we see as external devices, we store stuffs inside them for uses aside from operating system or softwares in use.

How The Harddisk Works in the Laptop Or The Desktop Computer.

The harddisk is very essential as it carries the operating system running on the desktop, that is to say when there is no harddisk it simply means there is no operating system running on that system at that moment.
The harddisk doesn't keeps our files such as the applications and softwares we run the laptop without the harddisk we cannot install programs because it will not have a place of habitats 😂😂☺️. The harddisk also store our documents saved on the PC unless you store else's where like in an external device that is when u cannot find it on your PC'S harddisk.

Examples Of Operating Systems May Include.

  • Android operating system
  • IPhone operating system
  • Windows operating system
  • Mac operating system
  • Linux operating system (Ubuntu,kali)

These are example of operating systems we make use of in many ways like the
Android and the iPhone are specially made for mobile phones but the Windows,Linux and the Mac operating systems are for Computers.

Note:
The size of a harddisk determines the capacity of files to be stored inside it.

Common Problems caused by the harddisk

So far everything at a point get tired or is noticed to develop a fault which may or may not have a solution. Just as we use our electronic devices and at a point our phone, tablets , television or even earphones. Most at times we students try to fix these faults but maybe we spoil it the more 😂 and it will result to getting a new one. But am here today to give us some tips and solutions to simple problems that will surface while using our laptops .

Harddisk crash

This is the commonest infact this is the only fault of a harddisk, it must be experienced according to the life span of that harddisk but also it can be extended by maintaining the harddisk.

This is caused by overworking the harddisk that is putting more work on the harddisk and then no space for breath. Most times as students we try to enjoy operating our laptops on bed but at same time we don't know the consequences of that. When your laptop is on the bed there is no room for heat decipation so the laptop keeps getting heated and by so the components and devices it works hand in hand with gets weak as time goes on and it reduces the life span especially that of the harddisk.
Most cases this crashes doesn't just happen it shows signs it keeps warning the user and he or she keeps ignoring them🤣🤣not minding the consequences. In most cases the laptop is very sensitive to the health of it's components so it detects weak ones and asks for replacement or scan.

Signs Of A Weak Harddisk

  • When about to boot up the computer pop ups like disk scan are experienced.
  • Ticking sounds at times from the Laptop
  • Weak processing or slows operation of the laptop
  • The icon for the local disk changes to folder.

Hey guys guess what we are rounding up for now we gonna continue tommorow the series is not yet complete but trust me we are getting the full details soon, I guess the note is becoming cumbersome it would be advisable to extend the class.

from the continuation images will be dropped

Bless you and be guided ❤️😊😊
Love for steemit and students

Wow sir thanks for the computer knowledge shared.. na for you wey i go surely learn this computer 😁

Lol 😂 we are here for us sir

Thanks for sharing such an educative content

You welcome noski

Awesome lectures thanks

This is a very nice and comprehensive class! Truly overburden our harddrive can lead it to crash at any time! But I want to ask a question, what if there is no RAM, will the system still boot? And what is Booting in computer definition?

Hmmm if there were no ram the system will not boot neither will it display on the monitor, we are coming to that sir ☺️. Booting is the complete starting of a computer (on)

This has been very educative.
