Today's Weed News for September 15th 2018 #CALGARY

For today's weed news we go to the great city of Calgary.

Canada's recreational cannabis legalization is only a month away, and lawmakers are scrambling to finalize the rules surrounding cannabis use in the various provinces.

Crucial decisions about exactly what will be allowed are being made every day.

And now, after weeks of careful consideration, Calgary has decided against a proposal that would have created four designated public places for people to consume their soon-to-be legal cannabis.

Apparently, almost 1800 people gave their feedback to the city and many of them did not feel that designated public smoking areas where a good idea. Some people even created signs with slogans like "Don't Doob It" and "Weed Rather Not".

"We understand that Calgarians have diverse views on the public consumption of cannabis, and we work hard to balance citizen opinion and regulations that benefit communities overall... We want to thank everyone who took part in the engagement process we take your feedback seriously," said head of the city's cannabis legalization project Matt Zabloski.

Although the above-mentioned proposal is now dead, the city says that they are open to considering other safe, legal areas of cannabis consumption as implementation of legal weed in Canada begins.

And from the looks of it, it does seem like they really are taking the public's input into consideration up there.

I guess only time will tell exactly what will and will not be allowed, but it sure is going to be interesting watching it unfold.
