Canadian slapped with drug charges January 19, 2018
A Canadian man who was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport on Wednesday, January 3 on suspicion of breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act, has been formally charged by the Narcotics Police.
He has been identified as 58-year-old Collin Campbell, otherwise called ‘Fudge’, a truck driver of Toronto, Canada.
After being interviewed in the presence of his attorney on Friday January 5, Campbell was charged with the offences of possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, attempting to export cocaine and conspiracy.
He is to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish court on Wednesday, January 10.
Campbell was arrested when a police dog alerted its handler to his luggage, and subsequent checks revealed 14 parcels of cocaine weighing approximately 5.3 kilograms concealed in the suitcase and in crab meat and fried fish.
Detectives from the Narcotics Division continuing investigations in the matter.
