Golden hour, Alberta time

in #canada6 years ago (edited)

At first I thought it was a blood moon. Or Mars, coming very close to Earth. But it was the sun, looking at us through a smoke. We were told there are about 200 forest fires burning in British Columbia, covering it and western Alberta with a thick blanket of smoke. The smoke was in the sky and on the ground, so dense at times that I'd get the impression of driving through a fog! Some roads were closed, luckily for us the Trans Canada was OK to drive. Compare it though with the same road a few thousand kilometres away, in the eastern Canada, quite a difference.

Canadian authorities requested help from Australian firefighters, and there should be a group of Ozzie's best coming to Canada. I hope they help to put out those fires, it's a pity this beautiful part of the country chocking with the smoke.

Fires often make interesting sun sets etc.

True, I hope they go back to "normal" sunsets though, the smoke is pretty bad some places.
