As always, whatever pleasureable or tasteful in life is bad for health. This is a pretty bad joke made by universe. Do you remember those fatty delicious hamburger? İt’s bad for your hearth. Or do you smoke? We all know that smoking kills. Today, you can’t imagine doctors acting in cigarette commercials but in 1949 a cigarette company used doctors for commercials.

When it comes to alcohol, there was a debate going on. Because you have to show causality, it was widely written as “alcohol-related cancer” or alcohol-attributable cancer”. This expression is used when you see something is seen more frequent when you do something but you dont know how one causes the other. A classic distorted example to understand is, in summer children eats more ice cream than in winter. Also more children are drowned in summer. So eating ice cream in summer makes children drowned?

Now, Epidemiologic evidence supports a causal association of alcohol consumption and cancers of the oropharynx, larynx, esophagus, liver, colon, rectum, and female breast, says Jennie Connor, MB, ChB, MPH, from the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, University of Otago, in Dunegin, New Zealand.
