Had one hell of a week in Florida attending Pittcon. I attended a short course on HPLC method development and validation that was okay. It was 2 days long and a little boring but the information was good.

Pittcon also hosted a symposium on cannabis and a networking session. The symposium was somewhat commercial and had equipment vendors showing off their products.

The networking session on the other hand was great. Topics were introduced by the facilitator from jcanna and it was open discussion from there. Discussions concerning proficiency testing, regulations in different states, skincare lines, ISO certification, and even synthetic THC were talked about with many from the cannabis testing industry.

Shimadzu, an instrument manufacturer was a huge presence at the conference and had a portion of their booth dedicated to cannabis.

It was nice to see all of the different booths that are now featuring supplies for cannabis analysis.
