1 BILLION DOLLARS in 8 months: sales of cannabis in Colorado are at their peak
According to an analysis by the Denver Post's cannabis magazine, the total amount of goods sold in the cannabis market - both medical and leisure - reached $ 1.02 billion this year.
This is a 21% increase in sales compared to the first eight months of 2016, when Cannabis sold for $ 846.5 billion.
In August 2017 alone, sales of cannabis (flowers, edibles, extracts and related products) reached $ 137 million, 100 of them from the leisure market and 37 from the medical market.
The tax on Cannabis products in Colorado is 2.9 percent, 15 percent marijuana sales (since July 2017, 10 percent), and local and local taxes.
Hopefully more states see the revenue that Colorado is generating and realize it is a gold mine for them.
It is utterly stupid that pot is illegal while alcohol is.
Maybe we can put pot on the blockchain so no government can control or ban it.....that would be refreshing.
