Ganja Garden

in #cannabis7 years ago

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been a little bit since I posted my first homegrown pictures. It's really heating up here and things are jamming all over the place here with the ganja and veggies and whatnot.

The good news is the beans have cracked! These are a few of the strains I have been looking forward to growing all winter:

It's still too early too tell if these plants are male or female. Females will stay and either go straight in the main garden or I might consider taking some clones from these "mother" plants and give them out to friends and keep a few for the garden. Any males will likely get destroyed in order to prevent them from pollinating the female plants.

The way to tell if the cannabis plant is male or female is by looking at new growth in between the nodes of the plant. It usually takes about six weeks to tell for sure, but the diagram below shows how to tell the difference between male and female plants. It can be difficult, and sometimes in a garden with a lot of plants a male can sneak into the garden so you have to be very vigilant at this stage in the growth cycle.

Here is a picture of me looking at the new growth on some of my plants:

Every year also gives me a chance to try out new gear, soil, nutrients etc. Last year I just stuck my plants in some pots lying around in the backyard and didn't pay much attention to it. This year though I decided to purchase a few 10 gallon cloth grow pots. I chose this particular bag because they have handles as well as a drawstring at the top to cover the top soil if I want to.

And as you can see it's starting to take shape. I have no clue what it will look like in the end but we are off and running!

Alright y'all that's it for now. Please stay tuned in for more updates as this season really starts to heat up.

Haha! Yeah this can get carried away pretty damn quickly. Luckily I get my big garden fix on the rec projects and farms I get to check out for work. Nothing like rows and rows and rows of that sticky icky baby! Thanks for checking in.

Good looking garden..

Nice setup! I always notice males usually grow real fast and tall when there seedlings. But ive been fooled before.
