I'm 100% against this tax. I really can't stand the argument that the tax can be used for 'good', like building schools. It is so massively hypocritical that we go from making it an illegal substance we ruin people's lives over, to building schools with its' tax revenue.

Canada already collects enough tax revenue, and it isn't properly spent on schools. We have extremely poor representation behind our taxes, because we have truly forgotten what representation means! If Marijuana is going to be taxed, it should only be a tax that is collected to help regulate the industry, not a tax designed to build schools and bridges.

We need representation behind our taxes, and I'm not talking about politicians. We need guarantees that certain percentages of our paid taxes go towards schools. This way we are never tempted to continually tax ourselves in new ways just to avoid the problem of inefficient spending. What a vicious circle that is!

It is one thing to tax recreational cannabis use...but medical? Taxing patients is WRONG!
