Cappadocia is located 20km east of the turkish city of Nevsehir, in Anatolia.

This natural wonder of soft stone is made from volcanic ash and is estimated to be about 60 million years old.

The first settlers were said to have been hittite, and later the early christs were to follow.

They cut caves, tunnels and churches into the rocks and it is said that the plant of Cappadocia is to go down to 50 meters in depth. In addition to that there are also ventilation shafts.

This people not only found shelter there, but also built up a trade node.

The Silk Road was also redirected to Cappadocia.

This continued until the end of the Ottoman Empire.

The region around Cappadocia is today a very popular tourist area in Turkey and it attracts people from all over the world.

How you can see at the pictures, you can book flights with hot air balloons, which allows you to fly over the area.

A few years ago also some caves were prepared and converted into hotels and there are tourist trips into the corridors or you can make tours with quads around the area.
