Learn from History - Change is faster!

Ford recently announced that in 5 years, they will be Mass Producing Autonomous Cars.
The others will have to match that, plus there is at least one new Manufacturer - Elon Musk.
So the new vehicles will go as quickly as Black & White TVs.
Only, these new cars will ALL be 100% Electric.
So if you have a good car now, it will be less than useless within 5 years.
Plus, this will see the widespread use of Uber-style transport - why own one
Further, it is expected that the number of cars will plummet since most will be used by many.
Fortunately the Baby Boomer Bulge will be hitting 75yo, and with the Road Rules changing so fast and the Nanny State taking away ever more freedoms, I expect any day to have an email (Post will die out soon because it is loosing too much money), telling me I must only travel in an Autonomous Vehicle, from then on.

Telephones to Parking Lots: When I moved to Canberra for the Stratplan Project, there was a beautiful big building in Woden, built as a super secure Telephone Exchange. During the construction, the telephone technology shrank so quickly, that the building was left vacant for the first 5 years (until it was converted into a secure parking lot).
Now we are building a Barangaboo Bloody Big Building in Sydney with 8 levels of under ground car spaces.
Come on, we are not doing it all again?
