Lexus ES 300h and RC 300h: new more powerful and larger hybrid versions
The new bets of Lexus, with its models RC300H and ES300H.
On the verge of turning 30 years, the Japanese brand Lexus (luxury subsidiary of Toyota) sells the seventh generation of the sedan ES 300h for sale. With more than 7,000 units sold in Spain in 2018, 15% more than the previous year, the forecast of the brand for this new annuity is estimated at 10,000 units. In Europe also foresees a significant growth, establishing its sales in 75,000 units in the previous annuity. The new units of the ES, which can already be ordered, have a new front, more spectacular, in which the multiple grids of the grill are the most remarkable. The new Global Architecture-K platform has new measures compared to the previous generation and a higher rigidity to facilitate a substantial improvement underway. Now it has larger dimensions: 65 millimeters longer, 45 millimeters wider and 5 millimeters lower.
The interior is more spacious and silent with optimized soundproofing. The seats have changed completely: now they are more comfortable and enveloping, while the distance between the two rows has been extended to achieve a clearance of 1022 millimeters. The alloy wheels are another of the sections in which it has worked. Now they are 17 and 18 inches in diameter, except for the F-Sport version, which are 19.The mechanics is entrusted to the new hybrid version, self-rechargeable, fourth generation, with 218 horsepower and five levels of equipment: Eco , Business, Executive, F-Sport and Luxury. Prices start at 45,000 euros from the ECO version and reach up to 65,800 from the Luxury.
For its part, the new RC 300h, replaces the previous one, which was born in 2014, and now provides superior sportsmanship in both design and performance. The headlights with the vertical arrangement, with triple LED, and the new L-shaped position lights give it a more aggressive and spectacular look. This sports coupe has been optimized both in the aerodynamics and in the suspensions. And the improvement in the new sensibility of the steering as well as in the response of the propeller, smoother and coherent is noted. The hybrid engine, same of the ES, has more power (three horses) and is associated with the same six-speed sequential automatic gearbox with levers behind the wheel. Prices start at 50,600 euros from the Executive version and reach up to 60,200 from the most equipped Luxury.
