 Upcoming Honda Cars. Auto Expo 2018 saw a lot of showcases and concepts from the manufacturers. While there is still some time in the launch of concept models, there were a few unveilings that will be launched in the Indian market soon. We bring you ten such models that were showcased at the Auto Expo 2018.Auto Expo 2018 is where the new, second-generation Honda Amaze made its global debut, and the reactions from the show floor suggest greater acceptance of the car’s shape vis-à-vis the original. Its plusher on the inside too, just as we had revealed earlier, but the big surprise is the addition of a CVT option for the diesel engine version of the Amaze. Also, shown at the Expo were the new Honda CR-V and Honda Civic, both of which have been confirmed for launch over the coming financial year. Of the other models on display, the FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle and sexy Sports EV Concept caught our eye. 

 Honda has showcased the all-new Amaze at the 2018 Auto Expo. The new compact sedan will take on the likes of Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Xcent in the market. The Amaze gets a new platform and a new coupe-like look. The car now looks draws inspiration from the Honda Civic and Honda Accord.

Upcoming Honda Cars – Honda Amaze

The car will be powered by 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options. The petrol engine produces a maximum of 87 Bhp – 110 Nm while the diesel engine produces 98.6 Bhp – 200 Nm. It will be the first affordable diesel car in India to get a CVT automatic gearbox. 

 The new Amaze will continue its rivalry with the third-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which was launched on May 16, 2017. Since its launch, the new Dzire is quite a tempting package with the vast number of features it packs. It’s no wonder then, that over 20,000 units of the Dzire are sold every month. Apart from it, the Amaze will also have to take on the Hyundai Xcent, the VW Ameo, Tata’s Tigor and Zestand also the Ford Figo Aspire, which is set to receive a facelift soon. 

 After five long years, Honda is all set to reintroduce the Civic nameplate in the country. Expected to go on sale in late-2018, the Civic will enter the D-segment with a coupe-like roofline instead of a traditional sedan silhouette. The tenth-gen model, which has been on sale in international markets since 2016, will be powered by either a 1.8-litre, naturally-aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine or a 1.5-litre, turbocharged i-VTEC petrol motor. To make it more attractive, Honda will also introduce its new 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel motor with the new Civic. This engine is currently being built for export markets at Honda’s Tapakura facility in Jaipur.Civic is one of the most awaited cars for the enthusiasts in India. The D-segment sedan is slated for an Indian launch in next one year. The beautiful design of the car turned many heads on the road. Honda India’s chief has said that the Civic will be a good choice for the customers who want to upgrade from the City in the coming times. The Civic is all set to make a grand comeback in India. The new car will be powered by 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine that produces massive 173 BHP. 

 Honda will launch the all-new CR-V later this year in India. Honda showcased the SUV at the 2018 Auto Expo. The all-new CR-V is already available in the international markets, and Honda will launch the new version in the segment dominated by the Toyota Fortuner. The new CR-V looks much sleeker than the current version and gets a thick slat grille, similar to the current generation of Honda vehicles.The CR-V that will come to India will be ASEAN-spec, which means it will get an extra row of front facing seats taking the total number of seats to seven. Honda will also launch the diesel version of the CR-V with a 1.6-litre diesel engine that will be made in India. The engine produces a maximum power of 158 Bhp and peak torque of 350 NmIt’s no secret that the CR-V has been struggling in the country. To turn the tables around, Honda has decided to introduce the new fifth-gen SUV with seven seats in India by the end of this year. Based on a new platform, the CR-V gets revamped styling and looks a lot better than the outgoing model. Like the Civic, the CR-V will also get the option of a diesel engine this time. The 1.6-litre i-DTEC motor generates 160PS and 350Nm.
