New Ginetta sportcar
One of the most performing cars on the market is Ginetta. Here's how the British brand gave birth to a car from DNA racing and performance derived from LMP1.
We start immediately from the engine: under the hood hides a V8 aspirated, with block in aluminum taken from the full (look at the picture below, what a show!), Developed directly by the engineers of the Ginetta team, who have also studied the throttle body from scratch .
The engine has a power that exceeds 600 bhp (the torque is 700 Nm) and, despite being positioned anteriorly, it is very backward towards the cockpit. In this way the technicians managed to achieve a 49% -51% balance, towards the rear, and to study a sophisticated aerodynamic profile. The gearbox, however, was born from the collaboration with another leading British manufacturer of the sector: it is a six-speed sequential unit with a carbon drive shaft, which offers fast and similar to those of a racing car.
As you can see from the images, the look is very characteristic and is inspired by the Ginetta LMP1: the front part (emptied by the engine) has been exploited as a true Formula 1 nose, while behind it there is a large wing to crush the car to the ground. In addition, an impressive diffuser was mounted under the body.
Consider that at 160 km / h the aerodynamic load reaches 376 kg, only 5% less than an LMP3. The new British supercar uses a monocoque carbon fiber frame with an adjustable double swing arm suspension system.
The rims are also designed and produced by Ginetta: 19 "in front, 20" in back. The brakes could only be carboceramic. Do you think that, to make this supercar more "usable", the technicians have mounted the ABS, traction control, rear view camera, automatic headlights, parking sensors, air conditioning, heated windscreen and wireless phone charging. Weight? Only 1,150 kg. And the structure respects FIA homologation.
Furthermore, future customers will be able to customize the Ginetta novelty according to their needs. It will be produced only 20 copies (60% of which has already been booked) from 2020.
To have it, however, you have to shell out 400,000 pounds, about 470,000 euros.
