An Indoor Cat but Still Free

in #cat8 years ago (edited)

Sometimes I feel bad about my cat not being an outdoor cat, but then I realize its for her own good. But she'll never understand why I keep her inside. She is now 14 years old and she has always been an indoor cat because of where we lived. Either we lived beside a busy road, or by a large ravine where raccoons and foxes lived. So it is dangerous for her, she is also tiny since she was the runt of the litter. So I like taking her out for walks, she doesn't really walk though, she just takes a few steps and eats grass. Takes a few more steps and eats more grass. Sometimes I wish I had a really big backyard that was securely fenced so that she could be free, but for now I'll take her out on her harness and watch her be the little cow she is. She'll eat grass nonstop and later vomit all of it on my carpet, but I'll love her nonetheless.

Out two cats are also indoor cats! They are very happy and we are free from worry about the getting hit by a car!

Yea, I agree that with indoor cats you don't need to worry about them as much xD

It is the connection and synergy between you two that counts.

A personal note - I am a dog person and I can't imagine my life without long doggie walks in the woods.

I can't imagine it either. xD
