International Women's Day
Today, we celebrate International Women's Day.
In honor of this, we are seeing worldwide companies show their love and appreciation for the cause. McDonald's in Lynnwood, California, flipped their "M" arch upside down to look like a "W". Also on all digital avenues, McDonald's has their logo upside down as a mode of solidarity.
All around the world, women are going on strike to show their support. In Spain, the unions called for a 24 hour strike. In Italy, women are striking. The UK has also seen a call for striking in order to promote the cause and end the disparity in pay between men and women.
We have also seen huge leaps in the cause with Pakistan today. On their twitter page, the government of Pakistan posted:
"Govt of Pakistan wishes International Women’s Day. The best time to honor the extraordinary efforts of women who have been struggling hard since ever. This day signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair."
The Middle East (Pakistan is part of South Asia, but has long tried to associate themselves with the Middle East) has long been lambasted for how they appear to treat women. Even though some of it is cultural, those in the west have often viewed their treatment as unethical and not fair, so this is a huge step! Kudos to Pakistan!
On an occasion like this, we can learn a lot from it. Let's bridge the gap. Let's treat others as equals, no matter their sex. We are all in this together and need to continue the fight to equality.

Nice initiative! Even if it's something small, like a 20-30 words message or temporarily changing your logo, it's still a great step. Keep promoting the message, we have so much to owe to the women in our lives and fighting for their equality should be a must.
Buena iniciativa!... como dices es necesario cerrar esa brecha, todos somos iguales y necesarios en esta sociedad. Justo publique sobre el día de la mujer, te invito a leerme y me comentes que tal te pareció. Saludos!
