Many children of God have been hiding under the scripture in First Timothy 4:8 which says, "physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is much more

important, for it promises a reward in both this life and the next " (NLT), to deny themselves of exercising their bodies physically.

That passage didn't condemn physical exercise at all. It only says that when compared with spiritual exercise, the latter is more rewarding.

Physical or bodily exercise is Indeed profitable or of "some value ". As long as we are in this earth, bodily exercise, in one form or the other, is of a necessity.

MEANING OF BODILY EXERCISE
bodily exercise is a physical activity carried out to improve health and fitness or a task set to practice. It is a physical activity and movement, especially when Intended to keep a person fit and healthy.

It can also be seen as a physical movement or actions, or a series of movements or actions, designed to make the body stronger and fitter or to show off gymnastic skill.

TYPES OF BODILY EXERCISE
running, walking, jogging, jumping, dancing, clapping wrestling, climbing, cycling, etc. Ask the class to name other types of bodily exercises.

BENEFIT OF BODILY EXERCISE

  1. It keeps us physically fit and healthy. Without good health and fitness we can't be effective witnesses on to the Lord - Phil. 2:25-28

  2. It makes vital organs in our bodies to function effectively.

  3. From physical training we can learn some spiritual truth of perseverance, need to remain focused and the need to run our eternal race not only with intent to succeed but also to win the heavenly prize -1corth.9:24-27

  4. Exercise can help prevent excess weight loss. When you engage in physical activity, you burn calories.

  5. Exercise can help combat health conditions and diseases.

  6. Exercise can help improve your mood after a stressful day. A workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help.

Do you want to feel better, have more energy and perhaps even live longer? Then stop looking down on regular bodily exercises. The health benefits of regular

exercise and physical activity are hard to ignore. The benefits of bodily exercise are available to you, regardless of your age, sex or physical ability.
