Darkness: The Absence of Light
Good morning steemians. Shout out to sirknight for this platform. It's another day that the Lord has made and it's marvellous in our sight.
I will be sharing a few insights on the topic of the day (darkness) as the absence of light.
According to Genesis 1:2 "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."
We see that darkness depicts emptiness, loneliness, disorderliness, absence of true authority.
This topic is in direct contrast to what was treated yesterday which is light, but you can't talk of one without talking of the absence of the other. When one is in the dark it means the person is ignorant of what is going on around them.
Darkness is liken to blindness, where the source of light to a living entity being the eye is blinded and one can only grope in the dark where stumbling over obstacles is inevitable and resulting to accidents and ultimately death.
John 11:10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. John 12:35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. .

Now back to Genesis 1; we see that creation could not begin until the darkness was dealt with. That implies until we deal with every dark situation in our lives we won't experience the power of creation. Nothing good was done in the dark rather in the presence of light.
There is an adage which says "make hay why the sunshine" and a scripture that emphasize the importance of the presence of light since no one can work in a dark state.
Let me quickly say this here, especially to steemians from Nigeria.....the country is going through her dark times with the recent killings in benue state and even the world at large
The people of Benue state are in peril and their houses and farmlands destroyed because of the darkness operating in that region. But we pray for Benue state and other warring states for peace and God's light to shine and drive every darkness in their lives.
In conclusion, light is best appreciated in the presence of darkness. No matter how small the light is, it shines brighter in the dark. So fellow steemians let your light so shine even in every dark situation you may find yourself.
We really should have thise goung through peril in our hearts. Cheers mate
