DailyCelestialChallenge: Sunday-Light

God created the world in just seven days, according to Genesis. In all those days trees, animals, fish, lights and everything without end were created

Genesis 1: 1-5: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and the darkness was on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters. And God said: Let there be light; and it was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning one day.

The Genesis account related to creation indicates with these transcendental words that God is the source of light, without which there would be no life on Earth. He is also the source of spiritual light, which is fundamental to guide us in life. King David pointed out the close relationship between spiritual light and life when he wrote: "With you is the source of life; by light of you we can see light."

God is so good and his creation is so perfect that on the fourth day he tells us Genesis 1: 14-19 created lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night.

Génesis 1:14-19: Then God said: Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night; and serve as signs for the seasons, for days and years, and are for lights in the expanse of the heavens to light on the earth. And it was like that. And God made the two great lights; the greater luminary to rule the day, and the lesser luminary to rule the night; He also made the stars. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

God transmits spiritual light primarily through his inspired Word, the Bible. So by studying it and getting knowledge from God, we allow His light to come to us. Through the Scriptures, God sheds light on his purposes and teaches us to do his will, which gives us meaning in life and helps us meet our spiritual needs. Jesus emphasized that we must meet these needs when, quoting from the Law, he said: "It is written: 'Man should not live on bread alone, but on every expression that comes from the mouth of God”.
