Celestialchallenge Thursday

Gday good kings and queens of steemit I hope you are being treated well this day of Jupiter. In the last post I wrote a little about how the romans interpreted other cultures gods and myths making them a part of there own culture. I am not judging them for it . Here in the instance of Jupiter they have done so again incorporating Jove as the god of thunder hmmm who else could be called that Thor or even the Greek god Zeus have very similar traits as Jove so that being said here is a representation of Jove

Jove is represented astrologically as Jupiter the largest and fifth planet from the sun. To draw some parallels between Jove and Jupiter lets look at how stormy the gas giant planet is the eye of Jupiter looks like a huge mega storm and lightning and thunder shouldn't be a stranger between both the planet and the god and in fact does happen often on the planet.

Just as Jupiter is the largest Jove is the most important god to the ancient Roman's he was the ultimate god and and patron of the Roman state. The lightning and thunder and the phrase by Jove was a oath that was punishable by lightning and thunder, anyone thinking of the oath may god strike me with lightning if I'm lying? Yeah that came from Jove how shocking

The forces of nature lightning, thunder, and fire, resulting from storms comes to my mind. being born in Florida I have had a few experiences with lightning. I have not been struck by it thankfully but I have had about two pc towers fry four monitors the good old crt tube monitors and even a cable TV box go pop in lightning storms. I can remember counting one- one thousand two- one thousand thr.......... KABOOOOOOOM!
Then ducking under my covers as thunder struck outside my childhood home. I have seen a couple of sad looking palm trees with huge black burnt marks scared in the trunks of them.
