Baseball: Tips for pitchers (to increase speed)

in #cervantes7 years ago

If you like baseball and practice it, you should know that there is nothing more difficult than improving both technical and physical performance, whether improving the speed of the race, launch speed, resistance, mechanics that is the most important thing for me. a lot of work, dedication, discipline and perseverance to reach a high level. As a pitcher I know how difficult it is to improve the mechanics and also the speed of pitches, at 18 years of age I still have a lot to improve and I am training from 4 years old. I really like baseball and that is why I bring you some exercises and tips that helped me increase the speed of my pitches and I hope it helps them either to make them or to have a son, nephew, grandson, I, help them with all the information that I bring to you today.

The main thing that a pitcher must have is a good mechanic, if you do not have a good mechanic it is very unlikely that you will increase the launch speed, besides it is dangerous for the arm to throw without a good mechanic. But how do you get good mechanics? In the image that leaves you here are the steps to follow to have a good mechanics. You can practice without throwing balls since a pitcher has to take care of the arm, you can practice with the branch of a small tree or even with a small cloth without the need to apply force or speed, only smooth movements since The goal is to improve the technique.

Another tip would be the correct way to grab the ball to throw it, as shown in the picture above is the correct way to grab a fast ball, otherwise the performance of the throw will not be the same. There are other releases such as the curve, the change, the slider, among others but those are more advanced launches and here I will only show you the most important thing is the speed of the fastball.

Those who know about this sport and have trained it with the purpose of becoming a professional or just improving the performance and physical condition should know that the most important thing for the baseball player in general but mainly for a pitcher is the trot. The training of a pitcher is reputed to be the strongest training that a baseball player can have and it is for obvious reasons, a starting pitcher usually makes more than 100 pitches per game, nothing that is easy to strengthen the body to reach that level, there is many who try harder and there come injuries so I say it is not easy. A pitcher at least has to jog 5 km a day since the trot helps to relax the arms when they are atrophied, strengthens the legs and also gives you the resistance that is needed.

The muscles that must be strengthened for a pitcher are not all. A pitcher should strengthen mainly the shoulders, forearms, trapezius and back especially the rib cage. Of course, a pitcher can not work with a lot of weight because it could damage the muscle easily, work with light weight, 4 pounds maximum only to strengthen, plus every pitcher must have a medical league to exercise before and after throwing . These exercises are for a person at least underdeveloped, at least 13 years old, if you are under 13 years old, it is advisable to jog a lot, practice swimming, make bars since that helps us to master our own weight

The exercise with the league that shows the image only those that must be done so that the arm has good development, is strengthened and prevents any type of injury.

I hope these tips help them, they helped me a lot, I'm a pitcher even at 18, I have a good average speed between 85 and 88 mph but do not think I'll reach it from one day to the next, as I said, it requires perseverance, dedication, discipline and love for baseball, not doing it for doing it and if not doing it because it is what you love and if you want to live off the sport you have to excel over others. If you are training and you have the goal of becoming a professional, the secret is the key words that I mentioned, that and asking God a lot.

Until next time
