Uber chief executive officer forced to leave, will it have any change in the market like Hong Kong?
The world's largest caller application, Uber, has been plagued by scandals in recent years, and Travis Kalanick, co-founder and chief executive officer, was forced to leave the company last week. There are further reports that Kalanick has resigned or added obstacles to Uber's listing.
The New York Times just quoted sources as saying that five of the main shareholders of Uber had pressed to Kalanick yesterday to demand their resignation and to indicate that if Uber had to move forward, Kalanick had to leave the company immediately and eventually Kalanick was also sadly resignation.
Uber recently came out of sex discrimination and sexual harassment scandal, but also by Google accused of stealing its own driving skills. Urging Uber to conduct an internal investigation, Uber earlier also published by the former US Secretary of Justice John Holder (Eric Holder) led the company's cultural survey report summary, which proposed by the seven directors unanimously adopted. The board of directors will appoint an independent chairperson and set up an oversight committee to enhance management checks and balances. Kalanick's responsibilities will be transferred to other top executives and the company will continue to look for the COO candidates to complement Kalanick. The report also requires increased management diversification, enhanced management assessment, and improved human resource management. In the case of discrimination and harassment, if the complaint is substantiated, a zero tolerance should be taken. For the company's party culture, to develop more specific provisions for the use of drugs and alcohol.
