Root Chakra Meditation using the Mythology of Tiamat.
LHP Kundalini Power.
In brief, Kundalini power is the fire from which all humans developed conscious will. Also known as life force, it is a metaphysical energy stream that is created within, at the base of the human body (the perineum,) and is raised through the path of the spine and into the head to strengthen the energy body, to burn unhealthy energies, and to fuel it with power.
The Kundalini is the human desire to become, evolve, succeed, it is our essence. It begins at the source of our sexual power and is the sole creator of man, the evolutionary force that developed our species. It is likened to the Biblical snake and the Christians fear it for its ability to bring full awareness and therefore complete responsibility in self for action and individual or social conscious destruction or evolution. It is not always a comfortable process knowing that one alone is responsible for mishap, tragedy or mistake, (at the very least reaction to such things, and for the most part, generally the creator of such things.)
Kundalini energy is possible and techniques are similar in all systems, the variation in the Left and the Right hand paths being in the ultimate goal. The Rhp practitioner seeks to raise the energy to an opening at the top of the head, in which s/he is then able to unify with god (or the mass consciousness,) to share this power and reconnect with "the All." The Lhp practitioner seeks to raise this energy and strengthen it, keeping it within the body and circulating it, "the All," is brought within at times for viewing or use, but it is not the goal of the Lhp practitioner to dissolve into this energy, nor give away the sacred power. Instead the Lhp practitioner uses it as fuel and it's awakening abilities to understand and empower the self, this in turn leads to the understanding and ability to empower others at will. Various creation myths understand this energy and the power within it, it's connection to self and all, we shall use the story of Tiamat for an example.
Tiamat is an ancient and primordial goddess of Babylonian origins. The base Chakra is the oldest and original chakra of our species, we can compare it to the reptilian brain. As our species developed the higher chakras were awakened through this original source, it was through the base that the first, most primal desire to evolve began. Tiamat is known as the mother of all gods, the first and the original. Tiamat was salt water goddess, (a creator, fertile, and motherly, she is also associated with primordial darkness (the unconscious sexual mind,) and the left-hand side of the body.
Tiamat is also associated with snake symbolism, the snakes movement represents flowing and creative energy. The snake sheds it's skin and therefore represents transformation. The Kundalini contained in the base chakra is said to be coiled and ready for expansion in much the way a snake would behave. For my meditations I use two snakes, the ideal to unify the two within the third eye Chakra. (male and female aspects of self, but more on that later.)
Water symbolism shows sexual energy, emotion, chaos and creation through destruction, (cleansing, and making way for new life to develop.) Salt symbolism shows a connection to the earth, the body, grounding, forceful and solid. Biblically it is a preferred offering to an almighty god, as we work our way through the Chakras the connection to an almighty god becomes known (Lhp bare with me "as the almighty god becomes known.") Alchemically salt both preserves and corrodes. The symbolism of salt and water combined is the representation of the physical body, (nervous system, and the conscious mind,) merging with the emotional body (instinct, impulse and the unconscious mind.)
As Tiamat is known as the original mother of all gods, we can relate her to the base Chakra. From her, all sacred life is manifest, she fuels and creates the gods that are birthed to her as the Kundalini rises and creates them in the Chakra vortexes. Tiamat breaths life into the gods (the Chakra being the home of such god's,) as her energy enters the higher chakras.
In this comparison we are using Tiamat as the creator of all, the source, the mother of kundalini power. It is worth noting now that (as with all ancient gods,) Tiamats children are known to lean in either the direction of benevolence or malevolance, but none are specifically known as entirely good or evil, they all have important roles to play in human development, lifestyle, in love, and in war.
The base Chakra is popularly visualised as a four petalled flower, I prefer to visualise the chakras as cogs within my system, if they are turning correctly and the life force is fluid within them then my machine is functioning as it should. The original swastika symbol and it's rotating symmetry may also represent the balanced base chakra correctly. Tiamat (and her female being associated with the left, and Kundlini fluid arising from her,) begins to enter the spine from the base and slightly from the left, causing the four points of the chakra to rotate anti clockwise if one is in the body and to rotate clockwise if one steps outside to face the body. The original swastika shows this motion in a 2d image and can be a powerful tool when visualised in the base meditation. For now, and the purpose of the creation of Kundlini we imagine two opposite points pulling in energy from Tiamat, and the other two opposite points pushing the energy out and upwards within the body.
It is my will to discuss the seven Chakras in relation to seven forces, or mythological powers, to use myth to excite the imaginative mind, to show symbol to mind to the areas of mind related to the body mind and to end with suggested meditation to really view that which is not possible to describe with words.
The following meditation is safe for Rhp practitioners that wish to explore a darker goddess and does not compromise the will to join a higher power (which comes much later within the highest chakras,) I would advise the Lhp theistic practitioner to visualise Tiamat as a bringer of power, that which you take, keep, and use.. her gift to you. She will leave an essence within your Kundalini and in a sense you become one with her for life. The power of the goddess transfers to you. For the atheist or agnostic, there are clues to the nature of this practice in the above texts.
This is Ritual, and ritual means to repeat. I recommend attending to this meditation for a period of at least five days in the hours of darkness whether this be morning or evening. Allow your imagination to completely overcome you, awaken your vision and your senses and believe all that you feel.
You will need a black candle, salt and a full bathtub. Incense (suggested is dragons blood, or Jasmine for their known associations for the purpose however any incense that pleases your senses will work.)
Fill the bathtub and add two to four tablespoons of salt. Enter the bath, and cleanse your self using no unnatural substance. Turn off the lights and light the candle and place into your direct vision, light the incense to the right of the candle.
Close your eyes and imagine the water you sit in (with a straight spine and head,) to become a vast, open and dark sea, the sea is calm and you are in the shallows. You are in an Eastern climate facing a western sea (you know this as you check the sky you see the star of Venus high in the sky and about to begin her nightly decent.)
Begin a movement, a slight rocking motion extending from your perineum, relax the area and open up awareness of your sexuality within the area. The subtle rock is causing a slight stir within the water and it is your physical call to Tiamat for she is in the water and feels your call from her depths. Ensure that you are aware of your own naked body, honour it, it's beauty, and the wonder of its ability to react to the slightest touch, explore your body, almost to the point of pleasuring yourself (do not pleasure yourself.)
Keep thinking of the goddess, she is outrageously powerful and beautiful, she is the epitome of your fear of beauty, she is that which controls you. Her beauty is deadly and make no mistake, as you call her call her with caution and respect.. do not cross the sexual line in which she will tempt you to cross. Visualise and examine her face, her lips slightly parted, the desire in her eyes bringing shiver to your inner core .. you must raise within yourself and try to match her raw sexual energy. Hold your ground.
During maybe the twenty minutes of the subtle rocking you may wish to recite a calling of your choice within heart and head, however due to the physical practice of this chakra, it must relate to the sexual aspect that we are awakening. "Tiamat, mother and whore to all, rise within, hear my call. Awaken within, my sexual beast, I offer my vessel upon which you shall feast." Imagine this dark goddess becoming intrigued by your calls, by your offer of self or sacrifice in your vulnerable state, she is as much monster as perfect woman after all. Can you keep her anger from rising. Be cautious.
You will know when Tiamat is with you, you will feel subtle difference in the air, you may hear something within your mind, or you may hear an external voice or sound. The water may react, or you may feel her brush against your skin. Regardless of the external or internal messages or reactions one thing is for sure. If you keep visualising this deep and dark goddess, you will feel a pulse in the perineum, you may desire to masterbate (don't,) what we now have created is an opening within the kundalini cavern. Within this begin to visualize the rotation of the original red swastika, rotate anti clockwise. Enjoy the pulse.
As you have been enchanted by Tiamats beauty, you may not have noticed her tail. She is half woman, half snake. As you notice the tail, you begin to realise that inside you, just above the stirring, and coming from within it, are two snake like creatures. Allow Snake imagery to consume your mind.
You have been accepted through sexual union of spirit and the goddess is birthing within you. You will probably visualise the water turns red, and without a doubt you know now that your chakra is functioning. Visualise the original swastika (spinning anti clockwise,) and pushing a water, using the sexual rythem that you have created within, and through the mind sexuality of the water goddess, as a fuel and raise the heads of the snakes through the energy.
You can end this meditation by imagining the power of the water and snakes rising as far up through the spine as your energy allows, cleansing the body with the red fuel, you can visualise this fuel burning away unwanted parts of self, or those pains physical or left by others, as it clears an internal pathway, or road to truth.
We can know through the power of the base Chakra that we are safe, grounded, secure, and in touch with our physical needs. The goddess, mighty and powerful and fully capable caused no harm when we faced her awesome power, we are secure within. Through our perfect Tiamat and our wonderful bodily, and material desires, we have developed a connection with our primordial and true will. We are more aware and imagery may have taught us of our deepest and darkest desires in which we can indulge through further meditation, safe and legal experimentation or dream work.
We hold the power to create within us, we accept the gift from the goddess as we accept communion with our inner minds. We are one with the creator goddess and can chose to be content in this secure knowledge and use this power to become closer to the source, (Rhp,) or we can use this new found power and practice fueling our body with it, for future intentions, for motivation and power. Either way, we are beginning a journey to truth, raising the light of consciousness through the depths of our darkest (unconscious,) being.
