RE: A writing prompt and a challenge, from Write Club

in #challenge5 years ago (edited)

Would like to read your story. No one seems to be doing it so far. The conditions are tough. Usually, a flaw is a flow and it doesn't give a person any advantages. It's a different matter that this flaw comes along bundled with some valuable quality. For example, a person could be so detailed oriental that other people perceive him or her as annoying. But I am not sure whether @jayna had this in mind when she described the
contest conditions.

Hi @mgaft1. The prompt is to get people thinking about a character and a story, but there is nothing more to it than that. If people incorporate that somehow into their story, that's great. It's more of a starting point than a rule or guideline.

I see that you have submitted a story. I have been so busy working on mine that I haven't had time to read it. And I will be honest that I didn't expect anyone to submit a story draft here. It was more of a recruiting method for our group on Discord. That said, I'm happy to give you feedback so you can work on a revision if you like. If you want feedback, please put the story in a Google doc with comment ability turned on and send me the link. Thank you!

Thanks, @jayna! I found a situation that matches your criteria. But I am not sure that what came out from "under my pen" sort of speak is actually an interesting and a complete story with the theme, the idea, the conflict, a good dynamics, and consistent narrative.

Rather than wasting your time for feedback, I'd rather join the group on Discord. I used to be a member of several Yahoo writing groups. It was a productive time.

So I'd appreciate the link to join your club.

Cheers!
