Jesus and the change of life: I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Luke 13:3

Jesus during his preaching on earth announcing the arrival of the Kingdom of God, the dominion or empire of God's perfections, always taught about the importance of the change of life. The spiritual doctrine taught by Lord Jesus starts from a first principle, men due to the use of the faculty of reason have the freedom to choose between the flesh and the spirit, that is, between two well-defined paths, sin and righteousness ("Do to others what you would have them do to you" Matthew 7:12).
And as Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount with the beatitudes and misfortunes, these paths lead to different rewards. Accepting Jesus as personal savior involves the change from a life full of sins to a life of righteousness. Jesus asks men to repent according to the spirit and not according to the flesh to enter the Kingdom of God. Peter, after denying Jesus three times, after Jesus was taken prisoner to be judged by Pilate, repented according to the spirit, and this strengthened him to continue his missionary work. Judas Iscariot, on the other hand, repented according to the flesh after handing over and betraying Jesus and committed suicide.
The gospel of Luke relates that Jesus during his last trip to Jerusalem met some people who approached him to tell him the latest news, and Jesus used these events to emphasize the importance of repentance as a necessary condition for salvation:
"Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, ´Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish." Luke 13:1-3.
