The Love and Happiness of Grandparents

In this chance I bring you a summary of my visit to the retirement home Mother Mary of San Jose, located in my hometown Cabimas - Venezuela, which was programmed and organized by the foundation "Leaving Traces For Vzla", which had as purpose to bring food, clothes, and make a small share to bring a little joy to those grandparents who for different reasons no longer live with their families.

Many times we think that grandparents are boring, stubborn, stressful, to the point of unbearable, but that shouldn't be the whole concept we have of them. We must understand that it is due to their advanced age, diseases, which affects their memory and understanding. We were in the stage of being babies and children, which is similar, and in the same way we will reach that stage in which they are. But beyond that, listening to their stories and anecdotes in my opinion is very entertaining, interesting, pleasant and enjoyable. In addition to love, wisdom, joy and family unity that give us and encourage.

"Mama Coco", a very sweet, cheerful and very shrewd granny. I had a lot of fun with her witticisms and sense of humor.

"Ita", an Italian family grandmother, unfortunately has Alzheimer's, but that does not take away the affection with which she treats people.

The grandpa' José, don't be fooled by his seriousness, he is very funny and he has some interesting anecdotes, besides being very wise.

If you thought the grandparents don't enjoy the rest of their lives, well...
