Charitable deeds, let's crowd-fund for kids in Bangladesh, fruits and snacks every week, nr. 22

in #charity7 years ago (edited)

Like a déjà vu once more, I write again! It is that time of the week. Friday. The last day of the working week and the first day of the weekend. So, let's take a moment together, just a minute, or two to check out a deserving charity. All proceeds from this post will go to @SchoolForSDG4, created by @azizbd, to help host a weekly fruit program and/or provide educational materials for the kids.

Here is a recent post from @azizbd

This week the kids started attending school again and fruit program was on! The chosen fruit snack was a sack of oranges, the vitamin C rich fruits that make and keeps us all healthy. I am happy to hear that all of the kids are kept in the best conditions possible and are moving forward with their studies, to infinity and further!

Another great development is that STEEM and SBD prices are not going down, on the contrary, they are shooting up and staying stable (except when BTC moves drastically) and that means much more income for the school. It also means that the emergency/future fund of the charity is growing and one day we might actually see a school building built with the help of steemit.

On not so great note, @Azizbd Visa to go to Thailand was rejected so he has to stay in Bangladesh instead of going and improving his knowledge abroad. The light side of this is that he can stay with the kids but I still feel sad for him not being able to travel to other places in the world at the moment. Nonetheless, there is another soothing aspect of the situation and that is that he is going to save some money skipping the trip and I hope that is at least a small consolation.

Back to the good things! I have been mentioning @GirlBeforeMirror a lot(you should definitely check out this kind souls page) and the reason for that is that she has helped, not only the kids in our charity school but also the Women Empowerment project, with some generous donations. She sponsored a share allocation program to the women in the program and, the money that wasn't gifted to them(the leftovers), is going to go towards buying a new sewing machine for the project. Isn't that awesome? She is helping, not by giving others fish to eat for a day, but by showing how to catch those fishes so they can eat for life!

The progress of the steemit platform and generosity of those around has helped this amazing project a lot and I hope it is going to continue doing just that. It is truly true what @alexpmorris says. You come for the money but you stay for the community. Cheers to that and here is to a long and healthy life of this amazing platform!

All the pictures are recent and provided by @azizbd, any questions about the project can be resolved with him, he will be happy to answer any questions if you are interested to help this project and have any idea about how to make it better. Heck, he will even get up at 4 AM in the morning just to talk to somebody about ideas. Here is a link to his steemit chat: https://steemit.chat/direct/azizbd

If you would like to contribute by making a post, you can contact Mohammed ( @azizbd ) and he will provide pictures for you, anyone spreading the word is welcome. The income from the post can be sent to @schoolforsdg4, if you think you deserve any Steem for your hard work making a post, keep a dime, even a small donation from your posts means a lot to those kids.

If you have any Steem to spare, donations are welcome. @schoolforsdg4 is where you want to send them.

If you can't spare any Steem, because I know everybody has their lives to live and expenses needed to be covered, a simple upvote is very much appreciated, a resteem is encouraged. :)

As I said, all income from this post will go towards the project, my rewards are set to 50/50 payout, but I am always able to find the SBD my posts make, so I will be able to forward all income from this post to @schoolforsdg4.

Wishing you wonderful holidays,
Linda

As a non-profit organization it is great to see people on steem helping out programs like this.

Yeah, one step at a day, we bring people closer together!

Hear hear!

Did you know @scilwa's company is apparently happy to delegate to jew-hating neo-nazis? One such individual wrote: https://steemit.com/politics/@mathiasian/brendan-fraser-was-blacklisted-after-being-sexually-assaulted-by-homosexual-movie-producer-philip-berk

Thank you so much! Went over the new initiative now and will be following the daily post choices!

Good work. Resteemed.

Amazing post @lindahas!
I would totally spend a day with those kids teaching them how to play music! That would be ultimate!

I think you actually can do that in a way. There is opportunity for online classes. Or you could visit, but that is much harder to do :D

Muuuuuuuuch Harder!

I am busy designing a music program for kids, once its all up and good to go we could make a plan to mail through content for a local musician to teach that side, I just want to see my program in action with the kiddo's!

Lets stay in touch @lindhas! Come say hey @nicknightshade :D

Oh, that is a cool thing to do! You can definitely reach out to @azizbd, I think he would be very interested!

Is he a musician? Or works closely at the school? I could send through a lil audio book thing for them haha, wow so many ideas!

What are the average ages of the kiddo's there?
Well the Range of ages more specifically?

Hey @nicknightshade , everything is possible through online but I guess will be harder for us to find musician for our small school. if you have time for us and interested to teach music to these slum kids then please contact us for more information and we will able to arrange online class. I am happy to hear that you have keen interest to help the kids. No matter where you from but everything is possible via steemit to support the charity.

Awesome @azizbd ! I am still currently designing the program with resources and such, I will definitely be in contact once I am ready and also.... need to think about a way to transfer it into an online interaction

He is the creator of the school and program. I will ask and get back at you or you can reach out to him as well.

Thank you! We have made brief contact, I still have work to do on my side but I'd love to help out when my program is ready!

So, the kids in the school range from 4.5 years old to 14 years

Perfect! My first program I am designing is for 6 - 10 years of age :)

Oh, that is exactly in the age frames the school is working in!

It's a great thing you're doing, keep it up!

Thank you! I definitely will!

Congrats on entering the history as a first #adsactlyspostoftheday ;)

Haha, thanks a bunch! :)

What an Amazing Post. Always have to show respect for those who want to help the children of the world.

I hope my little contribution will bring an opportunity to at lest one of the little ones :)

the work you do is very successful. its nice to make people conscious. when there are so many obese people in the world. we need to help the poor. good luck.@lindahas

Obese? I do not think any of the kids are obese, on the contrary, but thank you!
