You may never know the value of what you have until you meet someone desperate to have those things you don't value

Three days ago, one of the team members of @steemminna and a tailor visited a primary school here in Niger State in Nigeria. The purpose of the visit was to pick out 20 of the school children whose uniforms had gone bad and are unable to replace it with a new one.

The sponsorship was through a fellow Nigerian steemian, who long before now decided on his own to help out in providing school uniforms for primary school children. His identity would be made known as soon as possible.

Back to the visit, I and the tailor met the head teacher (headmaster) to explain the mission of our visit but were told that school was on salah break which meant our mission wouldn't be possible until the following week when the school children will be back from the break.

So an agreement was made to return the following week but a statement from the head teacher threw a lot of concern to me. He said:

When you come by next week, you will be able to see them, pick out those whose uniforms are extremely bad and those even "without uniforms"

I was unhappy upon hearing that some children went to school without uniforms. Not because it was their intention to go to school without uniform but because their parents couldn't afford to provide uniforms for them. I saw the unfairness of life while others have in abundance to wear and can even burn off the clothes they no longer need.

Upon discussing with the tailor, I discovered that 5 sbd or steem was able to provide a child with a uniform at the current price of steem being below 2 dollar. Implying when the price gets above 4 dollar, 1.5 steem can get a uniform per child which will go a long way to help these helpless children in the northern part of Nigeria so that their future will not be dark and hopeless.

The @steemminna team is making an appeal to steemians with kind hearts to help these children which is one of the objectives of the @steemminna team as seen in The introductory article of @steemminna

No pictures was taken but in the next visit to take the measurements of the children, pictures will be made available.

Your donation today can help make the future of a Nigerian child to be better
All donations should be sent to @steemminna account.
