History of Cheragi!

Cheragi Hills which is the heart of the port city. The commercial city of Chittagong, the aesthetic city of the bustle, is already known to the people of the city as the grazing ground of art, literature, culture and creative practice.
This Cheragi hill at the junction of Momin Road and Jamal Khan Road on the north side of DC Hill which is now known as Cheragi turn.

In the preaching of Islam, when Hazrat Badr Auliya (ra) lit a miraculous earthen lamp in his hand and radiated intense energy from it, the jinn fairies began to feel severe burning pain in their bodies. Then at one stage they were forced to leave Chittagong and gradually people started living here. In this way the hill for holding lamps became known as Cheragi hill. Symbolically, Chittagong was illuminated by lighting a lamp from here and Chittagong has been illuminated continuously since then.

However, historians say that the chief accountant of the Arakanese dynasty had his office here, which they called Cheragri Tong.

But in the afternoon, when the evening is over, you can see the magnificent view of the Cheragi hill, which is surrounded by the enlightened people of different ages. Poets, journalists, writers, playwrights, artists, singers, readers of creative books, organizers, cultural activists, political activists and people from different walks of life are immersed in the atmosphere of the whole area.

Culture is the bearer and carrier of our heritage. Growing up in a cultural environment with this tradition, the area was enchanted by the humming of the morning and evening to find solace in the present.
