80 million Chinese may already be out of work. 9 million more will soon be competing for jobs, too
"as many as 80 million people could have been out of work at the end of March, according to an article co-authored last month by Zhang Bin, an economist at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences"
--- If even they admit 80 million you can be pretty sure that the actual number is closer to 200 million. Which fits with the (later censored & author fired) estimate by a Chinese newspaper of 20% unemployment.

--- Not much of a surprise there. Wechat is the biggest spyware out there. I can only repeat: If you value privacy & freedom of speech, don't use Chinese communication soft- or hardware.

Jetzt fängt auch schon die FAZ mit so einem Scheiß an. Solange es keine Tests gab, ist das alles reine Spekulation.
Mal abgesehen davon, wenn diese Militärspiele tatsächlich ein Super-Spreader-Event gewesen wären, hätte es weltweit ähnlich frühe Ausbrüche wie in Wuhan gegeben. Da ist aber der erste Fall erst am 17. November aufgetaucht, mehr als einen Monat vor dem ersten Fall außerhalb Chinas.
"Zwar wird der erste offizielle Coronafall weiterhin auf Anfang oder Ende Dezember datiert, doch Studien legen einen früheren Ausbruch nahe."
--- Von Oktober war da aber eher nicht die Rede. Ist nicht unmöglich, aber bei der Ausbreitungsgeschwindigkeit des Virus ziemlich unwahrscheinlich.

--- Warum nur? Kann doch nicht daran liegen, daß die Regierung immer wieder betont, daß das Virus von draußen kommt, oder?
"Die Behörden in Guangzhou haben inzwischen Fehler im Umgang mit Ausländern eingeräumt. Neue Regeln wurden erlassen."
--- Viel eingeräumt haben die da nicht. & die neuen Regeln sind eher symbolischer Natur. Es wird zwar Hotel untersagt, nach Herkunft zu diskriminieren, aber erstens gibt es keine Sanktionen & zweitens kommt es ja für gewöhnlich von den Behörden, welche Hotels keine Ausländer aufnehmen dürfen.

--- Tja, manchen Diplomaten fällt es auf. Bei der EU-Führung scheint man aber trotzdem noch an den Erfolg von Appeasement zu glauben.
