SERAMBINEWS.COM - Former Chelsea player, Demba Ba, commented on the Chinese police overreacting to local Muslims.
Recently Chinese police in the Xinjiang region commanded the Muslims to hand over copies of the Koran and prayer equipment.
Based on news from Radio Free Asia (RFA), local authorities targeted mosques and neighborhoods of Muslim minorities Uyghur, Kazakh, and Kyrgyz in northwestern Xinjiang.
Seeing this, the former Chelsea striker Demba Ba who in fact is a devout Muslim and has defended Chinese Premier League club Shanghai Shenhua, commenting on the news through his Twitter account.
According to him a Muslim still will be diligent to worship even though the device of worship is disarmed.
Ba also feels in the hearts of Muslims have a deep determination with his teachings.
"If only they knew a Muslim could pray on the floor and millions of Muslims memorize the Quran without having to open the sheet, the policeman might ask them to give up his heart," said Ba, who now strengthens Turkish club Besiktas.
Called RFA, severe punishment is said to be waiting if those who are ordered do not immediately submit the materials of worship.
The reason the Chinese police officers are doing it is part of a campaign to suppress the existence of religious activities and the "illegal" teachings that led to acts of terrorism.
