Chiron, Prometheus and the Law of Attraction

Chiron and Prometheus

Someone asked me if I could map the law of attraction to stories from mythology. So, I took a look at one of my favorite stories - the mythology of Chiron and Prometheus.

My interest stems from a 2 year psychological astrology course which I took many years ago; It was there that I discovered my passion for learning more about human behavior and the impact of conditioning on everything we do. One of the minor planetoids discovered towards the end of the last century was named "Chiron". In astrological circles he was known as the wounded healer, and where he appeared in the birth chart is the realm where we can do things for others, but not for ourselves - a blind spot, if you will. . I never fully understood this connotation, until I was asked how the law of attraction could be applied to such a story. I will explain later in this article.

Much of astrology, and the psychology that accompanies human behavior, has ties to mythological stories. So I started to read them as part of my basic knowledge to help my understanding.

Who was Prometheus, you ask. At the time when humanity projected its dreams, fears and desires onto "gods", Zeus was the king of the gods, having overthrown the tyrant Chronos (Saturn), who in turn had overthrown the previous tyrant, Ouranos . Mythology has it that Prometheus loved humanity more than Zeus ever was and wanted to reward them by showing them the gift of fire. Zeus absolutely forbade it, but Prometheus did it anyway.

Zeus, irritated by this, ordered that the immortal Prometheus be chained to a rock and that his liver be plucked out and eaten, every day, by a giant griffin. Being immortal, his liver regenerates itself every day. There was only one way that Prometheus could be released from this torment - he would be released if someone volunteered to take his place on the rock. Of course, there were no takers.

Several times the other gods, grieving to see their countryman tortured every day, urged Prometheus to give in, apologize and ask Zeus to forgive him. To which he replied, "It is easy for those who live outside the prison wall of pain to urge the one who suffers." He was either too attached to his pride or his pain to let go and ask forgiveness.

Let's go to Chiron, just a minute. Some say that Zeus fell on his mother in the form of a horse, and the offspring was the first centaur, Chiron. Her mother, seeing her child half human and half horse, begged the gods to remove "this monstrosity". This was Chiron's first “injury” - he was abandoned by his mother at birth. Apollo raised Chiron, taught him all the gifts of martial arts and healing, and, in turn, Chiron became the adoptive parent of the children of other gods and heroes. It was Chiron who taught Heracles how to use the bow and gave Jason the gift of healing of fame from the Argonauts.

Being of pious descent, he was half divine and half animal. He was half immortal and half mortal. Now Heracles had fought the deadly hydra and had taken its poison to cover all his arrows. One day while hunting, a stray arrow accidentally hit Chiron in the thigh. The wound was in his mortal body - he was immortal and could not die, but, also, he could not heal this extremely painful wound.

The pain for Chiron was unbearable. It got so bad that he decided he had only one option. He volunteered to give up his immortality and take Prometheus' place on the rock. The Griffin came and tore his life apart, and so died Chiron, the wounded healer.

Touched by such nobility, Zeus ordered that Chiron be placed in the heavens as the constellation of Sagittarius - that all who looked up would see the archer and remember him. Thus Chiron regained his immortality.

There are two big connections to the law of attraction here - have you seen them before?

I'll go through the first one. The law of attraction says that like attracts like. We can have anything we want, but it must be desired by a subconscious mind free from limitations. If we have doubts, no matter how much we consciously want something, the subconscious, and therefore the universe, does not believe us. If we don't believe in what we want, what chance do we have of getting it? So you get more of what you "want" - you get the disappointment you expect.

What are these subconscious limitations? These are belief systems conditioned in us, since childhood. These are the results of past experiences. In fact, all we believe is what we have experienced in the past. We become everything we thought. How can we get rid of these limitations? We dispel the belief patterns - we cancel the conditioning.

If you remember, I said that in astrology, Chiron was considered the blind spot of the birth chart. Chiron thought he couldn't heal the thigh injury. He had been conditioned to believe that. However, if you look around you will see healing miracles all over the world !! Chiron had a belief system he didn't recognize. If he had, he could have called the universe to heal itself. The law of attraction indeed worked for Chiron. He received the pain exactly according to his belief.

Let's go to Prometheus. "It is easy for those who live outside the wall of the Pain Prison to urge the one who suffers." Maybe Prometheus thought he would be released. What if he believed the universe would find a way to free him? He didn't need to know the "how" or "who" in this case. All he had to do was "believe". So, of course, with such a strong belief, despite the pain, he stuck firmly to that belief.

The universe waited for the correct manifestation to appear. Chiron believed that he could not be cured and therefore suffered from horrible pain, 24 hours a day. It is not difficult then to put the two together ... Prometheus had a belief, Chiron had a belief - the Universe said "your wish is my command" to both of them! The law of attraction brought them together.

Yes, this is only mythology, but it shows how the Law of Attraction works. If mythology is the outward projection of human behavior, hopes, dreams, desires, and fears, then it stands to reason that the same law of attraction will work for these mythological stories.

Prometheus believed he would be set free - Chiron became the manifestation of this belief. Chiron believed that he could not heal his wound - his dearest wish was to be free from pain and so Prometheus became the manifestation of that liberation.

The lesson here is to challenge your own belief systems if you don't get the desires of your heart. Look at what are your beliefs that keep you from "knowing" that wealth, health, and happiness can be yours beyond measure. Work on these belief systems and replace them with those that are in harmony with the law of attraction and your dreams will manifest faster than you can imagine. If you don't know how to do this, get a life coach to help you analyze your beliefs. Investing in a counselor or life coach will be the smartest investment you will ever make! They will free you from your own limitations so that the low ceiling doesn't get in your way when trying to touch the sky.
