THE WORD GIVES YOU AN INHERITANCE.

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified - Acts 20:32
When the scripture says the word is able to give you an inheritance, it means the word is the key to possess your inheritance. Image that you have an inheritance and you can't claim it, because you require some evidence; you require an attorney to go in on your behalf to present the right documentation that shows the inheritance is rightfully yours, before it's given to you. The lawyer didn't "give" you the inheritance, but he helped you get it. That's what the word does for you.
God already gave us the inheritance. The Bible tells us we're joint heirs with Christ.
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Romans 8:17
Now, because of Jesus, all things are yours. All of God's resources belong to you, and through the word of God, you can know and take possession of your inheritance. The word informs, directs, and leads you in the blessings of God for your life.
The Bible says, "Giving thanks unto the father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the Saints in light."- Colossians 1:12
Study and meditate on the word every day, for it's the book of your inheritance. There's no way of appropriating the blessings of God to your life except by the knowledge of the word.
Your victory, success and prosperity are in the word: "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." - Joshua 1:8.

Yes this is the Truth, our inheritances are constoded in the Word of God . Hallelujah.

You gave an easy illustration for us to understand better your point. I agree that without reading the words of God, we gain nothing. We should constantly read His words and fellowship with other believers so we can have a better understanding. By sharing it to nonbelievers, it makes our understanding deeper by enhancing what we know.
