Fumbling Toward Jesus: Finding TruststeemCreated with Sketch.

Trust is a crux in relationships. A trust we won’t be betrayed. A trust we are being told the truth. A trust of safety. Every individual has a different capacity to feel trust.

In the current political climate within the Steem communities, the subject of trust has been brought up a lot—both directly and indirectly. There are lots of feelings expressed of diminished trust, lack of general trust, and especially as we work toward decentralization on a platform that was originally appealing to me in the sense that I didn’t even need to actually trust anyone, because on a blockchain things aren’t done in the dark.

We have seen that challenged because things definitely have been done in the dark, and I hope as Christians on the platform, that we all are making time to pray for our witnesses as they are in some really hairy negotiations and discussions with TRON leadership. It’s a tough time in our ecosystem right now.

Our diligent prayers and our trust in the Father are absolutely imperative in times like this. He can deliver us from this and any problem we encounter.

To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by His power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Oftentimes, our varied and sometimes sordid views of trust are shaped by our past relationships. If we been let down by people, it is hard to have trust in our future relationships.

As Christians, we need to make full effort not to project that fear onto the Father and our relationship with Him. He is not of this world. He is flawless. He’s worthy of all of our trust. Even when His will warrants outcomes we don’t understand—that doesn’t mean He let us down. Trust, He will NEVER let you down. People sure can break our trust, but our Creator doesn’t work like people do (Hallelujah!!).

Trust. He’s got you. Unlike many of our experiences with people show us, you can jump into His arms from a precipice. He’ll catch you.

1. Do you project negative views of trust onto the Lord? How do you think this affects your relationship with Him?

I am Jessamyn Orchard (@jessamynorchard), and I am a former youth pastor, worship minister, and church lay leader, who graduated from a Christian college. Most recently, however, I’m an addict in recovery who rededicated my life to Jesus about 6 months ago. I was raised in church, and saved at age 12, but I did a lot of straying over the past 10+ years, falling into pits of sin through addictions and self-pity. I’m no authority, just a believer in a big God and called to spread His word through as many conduits as present themselves to me. Fumbling Toward Jesus is a [multi-media ministry campaign](http://linktr.ee/fumblingtowardjesus) and includes a written blog of daily devotions on Steemit and an accompanying monthly podcast on Anchor.fm, and it represents years of study—both over the years and lately, and now combined with a whole load of human experience. I’m just a super nerdy sinner saved by a really awesome grace.
