On Emotions: Is It Ever Right To Remain Angry?

in #christian-trail7 years ago (edited)

Is holding on to anger good in any circumstance

Anger is one of those emotions we find hard to surpress, surrendering our anger feels like we are betraying our heart, while holding it on for another day comes easily natural to us.

We have all felt that rushing feeling surge through us when someone made that rash comment on our posts be it here on Steemit and even on Facebook.

We are quick to Flag anyone who disagrees with us or who makes us angry.

We have always forgotten these ten words which in some cases always seems unrealistic

Do not let the Sun go down on your anger(Ephesians 4:26)

This scripture has always rung in my head anytime i was preparing to go to bed while nursing anger in my mind, and i find out that in some cases i fail to heed to it.

But as time went on I prayed to God and he has helped me take control of my anger, I have always found it important to call or text that person and reconcile, no matter what.

But why?, You may ask, why is it important to always let go of anger, then consider these reasons and see why it is important to let go of your anger every night.

A Fertile Soil for Temptation

Refusing to surrender your anger gives the Devil room to come in and wreck your heart and your relationships.

Anger does not resolve a sin, it only encourages and multiplies it (Proverbs 29:22).

Holding on to your anger will not do you any good, and it cannot go hand in hand with righteousness.

We always hold on to our anger because it normally pretends to console us, but what it actually does is to consume us.( Matthew 5:22)

Though it may seem right to remain angry at someone, it is not a good state for your heart to remain in.

Time heals and hurts

There is a popular saying which have been echoed for time immemorial

Time heals all wounds

The truth is that time heals but not without geniune confession which must be accompanied with correction repentance and forgiveness.

If we depend on only time to heal what is wrong in our lives or relationships we will carry the wounds for the rest of our lives

When we continue to hold on to anger over time, we stop listening to our concience and over time come to see it as a normal thing in our lives.

God has given us a better way to deal with our anger, because even in our sin he did not chose to remain angry at us, but he sent his Son to redeem us of our sins.

Forgiving and reconciling with someone is not always easy, but God has given us our emotions as a way to lead us to Him.

Always seek reconciliation with anyone that has made you angry and you will always frustrate Satan plans for your rage.

Seek comfort in God, not in anger.

Your Are Powerless While Asleep

Why we often hold on to anger is because we only trust ourselves to right the wrongs we have felt, we are afraid that if we let go, that we won't get the justice we so desire.

We trust ourselves more than we trust God, but the fact is that we can only stay awake for two-thirds of our lives.

But God never sleeps.

You have to learn to surrender your justice and vengance to God who is the perfect judge, who alone has the power to grant eternal life or punishment.

Do not go to bed with your anger as it will only cause your more harm. It does not have the ability to produce the justice or reconciliation you need.

Forgiveness is important not just for the person who wronged you, you need it to actually live

Anger ? A very bad element of emotion. Those who indulge in uncontrolled anger turn moderers with time

Thanks for reading and sharing your opinion @eurogee

Uncontrolled anger is not only sin against God, but it has physical bad effects. However, controlling power comes through yielding to the holy Spirit. I was guilty of this but have learn my lessons. This post is needed by all in times like this. Cheers.
