Dear Christian Wife: Your Role Matters More Than You Know
I thought today I'd take some time and write a little encouragement for the wives out there, especially those that might be needing a little 'boost'.
Your Role as a Wife is Vital
To the wives out there: your role is so important to your husband, your family, and your culture. The secular world screams at you that a career should be your first priority, but God made you for so much more than chasing after money and paying taxes. The world wants you to think 'independence' makes you strong, but that's actually not the case.
Your REAL strength is in Christ and in following His plans.
Yes, you can do all things through Him who gives you strength, including being an amazing helpmeet for your husband as you both keep Christ at the center.
Your prayers matter so much.
As you lift up your family and your needs to the Father, know that He really is listening and cares. The Lord loves to have you commune with Him, so pray! Your prayers can move mountains, and can make such a huge impact in the lives of those around you, especially that of your husband.
Even on the days when you feel unappreciated, please remember that you ARE appreciated, and you are a precious child of the Most High God.
It happens. Satan whispers in our ears and tries to convince us that the things we do aren't enough and that we aren't enough. Satan tries to make us think all the effort we invest in our relationship with our husbands isn't really worth it, or lies to us in any number of ways to try to discourage and dishearten us and create separation between us and our husbands. Fight it at all cost and remember who you are in Christ.
God saw it was not good for man to be alone.
That's why Eve was created in the first place. To share Adam's heart and to be his helpmeet. Not to be his slave, but yes, to serve him. That service might manifest in different ways, but the point is that we were meant to help our husbands, not to fight against them. And a godly husband also serves his wife with the love of Christ and cherishes her.
You make your house a home.
While this point has become controversial to the world, this is the order God intended, that women be keepers of the home. In ancient times it was regarded as a very honourable position to care for a household. To have the task of keeping things in order for the head of the house, caring for the home and stewarding the resources (money, food, etc).
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. (Titus 2:5)
There could be books written (and there probably have been) about why in these last days Satan has worked so hard to convince women to shun this important role as keeper of the home and to shun the idea of being a wife. But suffice it to say, this role is more important than many of us even realize. Ask a man, would he rather come home to an empty house or one with his beloved wife in it? Would he rather eat his meals alone or in her company? The love of a wife makes a house a home, not merely her caring for it.
So, dear wife, please know that your role as a wife is very important. In your day to day life you minister to your husband and your family in ways that only you can. This is something God made you for, a sacred role to be cherished, and you are cherished.
You are a Gift to Your Husband From God
No, you aren't perfect, yes you mess up and you make mistakes. But keep trusting the Lord and trying your best, and love with all of your heart.
And of course...
