ABIDING IN JOY

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there arepleasures for evermore.
Psalm 16:11

It is in God's perfect plan for His redeemed that they be joyful at all times irrespective of the occurrences around them. That is, whether life is going as planned or not, God designed it that we should be joyful always. People like Paul rejoiced even in afflictions and persecutions. We also are instructed to rejoice always 1 Thes 5:16.
However, most believers do not walk in this realm of continual joy because they depend on themselves, family, friends and some other environmental factors for joy.
From this mornings verse, full joy can only be found in the presence of God. This is confirmed in Psalm 46:4 where mention is made of a wonderful river whose streams bring gladness to the children of God. The river representing the Holy Spirit. Therefore, if you will abide in joy irrespective of lives blows, then you need to always walk in the consciousness of God's steadfast presence which He has promised in Heb 13:5.

Set your mind always on God and you will abide in joy.
