The cares and worries of life.

Other people are like the seeds sown among the thorn bushes. These are the ones who hear the message, but the worries of this life, the love for riches, and all kinds of desires crowd in and choke the message, and they don't bear fruit. Mark 4: 18&19 (GNB)

As Christians, for us to bear fruit by the word of God we hear, we must take away all distractions. In the verses above the distractions that can deter us from bearing fruits (spiritual fruits) are clearly stated. It is very important that we consciously live so as not to let the cares and worries of life hinder our spiritual growth. We must be diligent and determined in developing relationship with our heavenly father, and in anticipation of reigning with him in his eternal kingdom. May God help us in our sojourn in this world.
