Once saved always saved?

The first act to becoming a Christian is getting saved.

Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

But once you have obtained salvation, can you lose it?

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is
born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

So when we get saved we are born again. Is it possible to be unborn? There

is no biblical scriptures that support this. But lets break it down further. When you are
saved you gain everlasting or eternal life.

John 3:16

16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Eternal:

       adjective
1.
without beginning or end; lasting forever; always existing (opposed to temporal ):
eternal life.
2.
perpetual; ceaseless; endless:
eternal quarreling; eternal chatter.

The defintion of the word, we see that it is ceaseless, endless, lasting forever. This

supports once saved always saved. But there are other scriptures that tell us we cannot lose
our salvation.

Hebrews 6:4-6

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly
gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of
God and the powers of age to come, if they fall way, to renew them again to repentence,
since they crusify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shames.

So this scripture tells us that Christ died once for our sins. Salvation is only gained once.

Some might argue that when we are saved we cannot sin. Which is not accurate. Because the flesh
desires the ways ways of the world, it would be nearly impossible for anyone not to sin. Scripture
also supports this.

Romans 3:23-26

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare
his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of
him which believeth in Jesus.

The apostle Paul, in a letter to the Ephesians, also put alot of emphasis on the unity of the

church in Christ, through the spirit.

Ephesians 2
By Grace Through Faith

2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked
according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit
who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves
in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature
children of wrath, just as the others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we
were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and
raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the
ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ
Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good
works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Brought Near by His Blood
11 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is
called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— 12 that at that time you were without Christ, being
aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and
without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by
the blood of Christ.

Christ Our Peace
14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so
as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them
both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached
peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one
Spirit to the Father.

Christ Our Cornerstone
19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members
of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ
Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy
temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

But lastly, we have a promise from Jesus that when we call out to Him, that He can and will

save our souls once and for all. For we are His Children, and a fathers love is everlasting! AMEN!

John 10:25-30

25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's
name, they bear witness of me.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man
pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them
out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
