True Obedience

There is no doubt that we are to Guard His commands as it is written many times over in Scripture. Is that all there is to obedience though?

What about Noah building the ark all those years? Would we be as willing to do that?

Abraham left everything behind, the comforts of his home and surroundings because Abba Yah told him to go.

Moses led not only the children of Israel out of Egypt, but a mixed multitude. Who of us would be so willing to lead so many when many cannot even lead their family in the ways of Abba YHVH?

The disciples left everything immediately to follow Y'shua! Are we willing to do that, or will we hold onto something in this world?

We as the children of Israel must be willing to Surrender Everything if we want to follow Him. He told us to consider the cost. He told us we must die to the flesh. He told us we must pick up our cross (stake) and follow Him.

Finally, He asks us to surrender our every thought to Messiah Y'shua; to take them captive! How many are willing to let go of the flesh, of being right? How many will surrender the hurts, the baggage of the past that we still carry? Obedience goes Much Deeper than the letter of the Torah! It takes a total surrender of our will and ways to His will and ways!

Matthew 16:24-26
Then יהושע said to His taught ones, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake, and follow Me. “For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it. “For what is a man profited if he gains all the world, and loses his own life? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his life?

Deuteronomy 32:15
“But Yeshurun grew fat and kicked; You grew fat, you grew thick, You are covered with fat; So he forsook Eloah who made him, And scorned the Rock of his deliverance.

Matthew 4:18-22
And יהושע, walking by the Sea of Galil, saw two brothers, Shim‛on called Kĕpha, and Andri his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I shall make you fishers of men.” And immediately they left their nets and followed Him. And going on from there, He saw two other brothers, Ya‛aqoḇ the son of Zaḇdai, and Yoḥanan his brother, in the boat with Zaḇdai their father, mending their nets. And He called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

Luke 14:27-35
“And whoever does not bear his stake and come after Me is unable to be My taught one. “For who of you, wishing to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? “Otherwise, when he has laid the foundation, and is unable to finish it, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was unable to finish.’ “Or what sovereign, going to fight against another sovereign, does not sit down first and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? “And if not, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. “So, then, everyone of you who does not give up all that he has, is unable to be My taught one. “The salt is good, but if the salt becomes tasteless, with what shall it be seasoned? “It is not fit for land, nor for manure, they throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
