RETURN TO THE CENTRE

christ the centre of our lives calls us to return to him if we had fallen out of love with him

Falling in love is charming in life ; but there is always some madness in love, and some reasons in madness. We see a boy and a girl falling in love, getting married and after a few years, they begin to fall out of love because preloblems arose: bills mounting up, work uncertain, sickness and monotony, he wanted to make love, she didn't, she wanted to go to the theatre, he didn't, he wanted to save money, she wanted to spend it on holiday, she wanted just to talk, he wanted to watch football, she didn't like his family, he didn't like hers too. So their love cracked and their life broke. However, no permanent damages was done, for they realise that they were two separate persons and each cannot be owned or possessed by the other. Hence, they chose to return to love the centre of their life. Love after reunion was not like their first passion, but it didn't matter. After all, the first passion is only a little foolishness and a lot of curiosity. But after reconciliation, their love became telly real.

This is the story of every love. St Peter the apostle loved christ. But in the beginning, his love was only an emotion, as grandma feels for a poodle. So St. Peter the apostle denied Christ three times, but he repented and returned to the centre of his life, Christ, with renewed real love. We too love christ and love dearly. If he were to ask each of us, as he asked St. Peter (john21:15),

Do you really love me?

We would reply, "yes Lord, I love you; every time I think of you, my heart touches a new height, sighing like furnance" if he would ask a second time, we would respond, "yes Lord, my love for you seems to pump me full vitamins". If he would ask the third time, we would protest just like St peter, saying "Lord, you know I love you. My love that I have for you can conquer all things including death".
Indeed, we do love christ, but the fabric of our love will begin to unravel when we start our travel along with him. For on our travel, we will encounter trials: the presence of trial will tell us how great our love is but it's absence will raise the question ❓ how long our love will be???
